Okay... this is some mind reading magic shit π¬ I always wondered how these 2 will do in each other's roles... Now I am scared that GMM is spying on my thoughts π²
The leads are ridiculously good-looking and hot and that last kiss scene was amazing like they concentrated all 8 episode of chemistry into that one scene. I really liked the whole explicitly "I like men" coming out of Jae Woo. This gay affirmation is refreshing. Most bls are still stranded at "gay just for you".
The show itself however was not that great for me. The story was kinda boring. The romantic chemistry was missing except for that last scene and it was not for lack of kisses in the rest. I feel the chemistry should start cooking before the coupling happens. It should bubble up to brim so i can't wait for them to be together. This rush was not here. It could be the writing, or I don't know, directing.
I am gonna start by saying that Wan was so unfair by running away out of reach like that after confessing to Ki tae and kissing him confused. However, I am him. If I ever even confessed (forget kiss) to my crush in high school, I'd have had jumped off the roof with a parachute, moved galaxy, switched specie. So I understand him. And if somehow I came back as a human and met my crush in a situation like this here where he also liked me and confessed thrice a day, I'd have had a heartstrike... i mean heartstroke. So I understand him.
I liked the show. It was cute and fluffy, and a very breezy watch. The writing was a bit messy and incomplete, nonetheless, the two leads were too cute with their chemistry and those faces to make this show enjoyable.
I especially loved Lee Jong Hyuk's interpretation of Lee wan as an introvert guy crushing on another guy who's opposite of him.
I didn't get know much about Ki Tae to understand when he so deeply fell in love with Wan. I mean I understand his fear of Wan running away again was the consequence of Wan running away once. But I never got to see anything from Ki Tae's perspective to fully understand his feeling. So I had to conclude that from him or someone else telling me through dialogues and not the show showing me. The epilogues too were all about Wan's crush on Ki Tae. Ki Tae could easily have been a "there's more to that extroverted pretty face" character with some details on him sprinkled here and there. I wanted more on him. I think some of the screen-time for the side characters could've been allotted to fleshing out Ki Tae's side.
This drama was very lgbtqia+ realistic. How it's not self-accepting for everyone to be different in this "normal" world. The ending tho was very romantic and unrealistically serendipitous. But that didn't affect my opinion of this drama that it was awesome. The acting was great. The chemistry was great. And there were real kisses in a jdrama π² The soundtrack was great.
Raiku is so cute. And Shirasu Jin... OH MY GOD! he is soooo hot and such a talented actor. Want to see more of his work.
The ending could've been brave too to implement reality. It was too easy and rushed (the time was not on their side either with the number and length of the episodes). Time and life really don't wait for anyone. The fact that Yuuki was waiting for Akira unattached like that was too much of a lucky coincidence. I wish they at least let Akira suffer a bit more with an indifferent Yuuki before him. I liked how I Promised You The Moon did it. That was romantic too but still there was less rushing.
I'd love to see a drama someday where they go all the way with the realisticness of whatever they are attempting to depict and not just bow out with a romantic happy ending.
I am internally screaming watching this drama πππ The leads are so cute and their chemistry is just β€οΈβπ₯ The whole cast was good acting wise. Park Jae Chan is ridiculously cute and Park Seo Ham is insanely charming.
