They released a special ending/special episode at the end of season 1 where it shows everyone sitting around a table eating and then Tang Lian comes in a surprises them. So, yes he was saved by someone and is still alive!

Yes, you should give it a shot. I got sick of the lovey dovey cliche romance dramas and needed a change and this was perfect. I never thought that I would like the bromance between the two so much. Their relationship and conversations with each made me smile like a dork and it also make me shed some tears. The main characters are introduced early on and sticks together all the time, so give it a few episodes before deciding if you like it or not.

The harem in this is a harem, but not really a harem. The ML's relationship with the other concubines seem more platonic, like they are just there as a wife in name and/or to create children. The romance in this is a really slow burn, and in my opinion, when there is romance later on, it will not be your typical lovey dovey romance as seen in some romance dramas because that just doesn't seem to fit into the overall theme of the story.

Based on what I have seen, the FL is a strong, smart, and kind character. In the beginning it may seem like she is too kind and just let things slide. However, she only seems that way because she wants to hit back where it hurts the most and with plenty of evidence. She slowly proves to people that despite her lowly status, she can be and is better than those people with a noble status. She sometimes gets a little carried away with investigating her close relatives death and gets a bit confused in her thinking, but she eventually snaps out of it and thinks properly.

ikr! I was so happy when she finally got exposed! Her attitude really got on my nerves, it was like the whole world owes her something. But I feel like she won't be gone for long, i'm sensing that she will be back by colluding with the enemy.

OMG! ikr, the wait is torture! But I am so glad Concubine Qiao got the karma she deserved. I was scared that she actually got her way for a sec, luckily the FL is smart and planned beforehand. Now, I need the main couple to grow closer and take down the Qu family.

It all depends on what you don't like about slow burn romances. I am on Ep 30 and the sparks are starting to grow stronger! Despite it being a slow process, I still liked the build up and how they fall for each other. Also, despite her having reservations about him and him clearly knowing it, there seems to be this strong trust they have for each other. I loved how he is a supportive husband, allowing her to do her side hustle. No matter who schemes against her, he will always believe her and help her through it. When you think the trust is broken, the show does a flip and reveals that there is more than what the eyes see. Just an FYI, they don't get married until ep 7 and don't have their first official kiss until ep 27.

Final note, the romance between the two is interesting and not everyone's cup of tea, as you can tell by the comments below. Yes, the FL keeps rejecting the ML on an intimacy level, but thats understandable considering the circumstances she was put in. But as the episodes go by, you can see that she is beginning to open up to him. If you don't like seeing the FL constantly rejecting the ML's advances then I do not recommend this for you. However, if you like a strong FL, evil characters getting the karma they deserve, and a supportive ML, then I would suggest you give it a shot.

I highly doubt they will end after the next season (books 8 and 9). They still need an adaptation for book 4, which some of its contents was mentioned at the end of The Lost Tomb 2. Also, there are sequels/side story's to the main story that they can do an adaptation on, like Tibetan Sea Flower and Ten Years Later.
What I really want is a whole drama about Xiao Ge and all he went through! Highly doubt it, but one can dream.

Tomb of the sea is a good watch, however it's a sequel to the main story and focuses mainly on what Wu Xie did during the 10 years Xiao Ge went into the Bronze gate. As Summer fouad mentioned, if you want to watch more bromance/action between the three, I would go for Reunion, which happens 12+ years after the main story.

At the end, Wu Xie/ Xiao Hua (plus Hei Yan) went to one mountain, while Pang Zi and Xiao Ge went to another mountain. Both teams encountered mishaps, but Wu Xie and Xiao Hua made it out alive (Hei Yan went missing), and Pang Zi and Xiao Ge's team are considered missing because Wu Xie provided them with the wrong information. There were problems arising with the Nine Families, so Wu Xie derived a plan to disguise as his missing Uncle Three to seek out answers and to find his missing friends.
I don't think the scar on his neck happened in this series.

Prince of Tennis was an enjoyable watch, it's worth checking out if you don't have anything else to watch.

It would help you in understanding the details and the relationships, however each series can be considered a stand-alone. Tbh, the series don't really connect from where the last series left off. I would recommend you watch the others, but its not necessary.

It's worth checking out The Kings Avatar, Hikaru no Go, Psych-Hunter (this does have a bit of romance, but its not too prevalent). Oh, Candle in the Tomb is another series similar to The Lost tomb that might be worth checking out.

haha, their bromance is to die for! I need more! After watching so much romance dramas, these bromance dramas are a breathe of fresh air.

IKR! I was sad when reunion was over, but then this came out of nowhere. It was a great surprise, but now I'm saddened that it is over!

You aren't totally wrong about that (though, it's not a sad ending), however if you watched Reunion or Tomb of the Sea, you would know that there is more adventures for the three of them in 10+ years time. So you would know they are all alive, but they don't tell or show you. So we just got to wait for adaptations of book 8 and 9.

There was also a flashback of this scene from Tomb of the Sea (set 7-8+ years later), with the same Xiao Ge! When I saw them go in, I already knew whats gonna happen haha!

I know that the drama will end on a cliffhanger based on previous adaptation endings, but man was I not prepared for it! So many questions still left unanswered!!! I need to know if they made it out alive (I know they will, but I want to see it!) and I need to know what Wu Xie is doing with that disguise! Why can't they give us a season 2 like reunion.....or at least give me an ending where all of them are at least together!! Sigh, maybe its time to dig into the books. But, anyway, I really look forward to adaptations for book 8 and 9. I really hope it comes soon.

Despite my rant, this is one of the best of all the adaptations! So much more bromance than the other series and I'm so digging it. I wish i was able to see more Xiao ge/Wu xie and Hei Yan/Xiao Hua interactions. But I was still satisfied that I was able to see so much in this series.
