Well in this recent teaser what I understood was them showing us both the male lead and the female lead trying…
Well the strike contrast is, she is being welcomed and attended well to by his family sitting at the center of table, while he stands alone without even being able to sit on a chair.
This promotional strategy is baffling as well as annoying. focusing on mistreatment and misery as if that will get attention .. can they not hint at him giving back after mistreatment?? won't that have a different impact??Do they think a man getting bullied and mistreated is more exciting? What have they shown till now that will convince us it's a miraculous love story??? I mean why should viewers root for this couple when one of them is being mistreated by other half/their family?
It’s a little confusing why they went this route. Like why is the main lead made to stand when he is a son-in-law. Yet we have a guest (the 2nd male lead or villain) sitting and enjoying happy meal with family??
They can definitely do better. I hope with just 2 weeks left, we get few more heartwarming teasers into the couple dynamics.
My question on this drama:"So they're already married in the beginning of the drama. What drove them apart?"The…
There was some article saying she is his boss at work and he is mistreated at work as well as at home. It also mentioned she is plagued by rumors that he married her for her money.
I am guessing those rumors affect her and she starts acting cold and indifferent to him, eventually driving them apart.

The part about excusing the behavior is obviously meant for writers and not for individual viewers. The writing should be satisfactory to show turnaround for such characters. With Pje, we probably need not worry much.
I did watch new trailer. I had guessed that the reason for her behavior would be rumor mills saying he married her for her money and that's what it is.

Please read my comment again. The general concern, as I mentioned is, such behavior from fl is seldom called out. Also, characters may have reason for their actions. However, that doesn't undo the misery and suffering of other who had to endure those actions. So, expectation is to have a satisfying character growth and story arc, which is often not met with.

No one said anything about her actions being unforgivable.
The general apprehension about such representation comes from the observation that such depiction is often trivialized and ml suffering is often used as a source of comedy and the fl rarely faces consequences of her behavior. Whereas, if a ml treats fl in the same way as mentioned, rules are entirely different in dramaland. We will never see fl misery being dished out as comedy.
Characters can be good, bad, grey or evil! Everyone has to face the consequences of their behavior. That's a simple expectation.
And we are allowed to have impressions and opinions based on teasers. That's what teasers are meant for. :)
Cautiously optimistic about this show. I echo the thoughts of other posters here. The double standards in how…
Well said! it's surprising the way people are asking to wait to hear female pov, as if that will magically undo all the misery of ml, just because fl has some reason for her behavior? I guess people want to see the bully and fashionista fl so bad, but still hoping there's a grand reason for her behavior.
Hmm...I kinda read the female character description and seems she is mean to not just her husband, but everyone around. Basically, someone riding high on power and money. So I wonder what reason she has to treat everyone this way, unless that's just like how she is!!
The pairing of Ksh and Kjw is stunning. They look so lovely, until teaser gets to the part of marital discord. I was expecting some different treatment of married couple gradually drifting apart and falling out of love. But since it's the era of badass, girl boss, mean and indifferent female leads, who can treat the male leads whatever way they want and still expect unwavering love from male leads, I am skeptical about warming up to her as I don't enjoy love stories with character imbalance btwn ml and fl. The only thing I am putting my faith on is PJE's writing.
they start promoting it 30-40days before the release so 2 more weeks to go...
For sejak, the script reading pictures were actually out by this time, as in around 7 weeks before airing. So I am expecting at least that in this week.
I think it's very likely netflix picks this up. Reunion between writer Park Ji-eun and Kim Soo-hyun who did My…
I think you misunderstood my comment. I didn't mean Netflix has only top tier shows.
But if a show as high profile as Queen of Tears, written by PJE starring Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won, targeting a global reach, it most likely will be picked up by Netflix than Disney+ or Prime.
apparently it's some new rule in dramaland where we are just supposed to shut up until drama airs and say nothing about teasers or posters.
promos and teasers are meant to be judged in the sense whether we want to see the show or not.
The attack on people who question the fl and defense for fl is really getting weird in kdramaland.
