I know it's a crime thriller and stuff but it's a gl and there'll be 5 WOMEN and 10+ MEN!? Idk maybe I'm being…
Only Tul's brother and Cherran's father are the major male characters. Other men are Tul's colleagues, the suspects, or related to the case. The 4 women (Tul, Cherran, Jiu and Mae) are those carrying the story from the beginning.
From reading the book, I think they just want to add more drama to Na's character in the series. In the book, Na's character and Max's character are long time friends and they somehow related to a case Tul (Engfa) is investigating.
Actually, there's no BL couple in the book. They are close high school friends. I think the BL couple is added to the series for dramatization purposes.
There are many accts have been taken down by Wattpad lately, especially the unauthorized translated Thai GL books. So it's better to wait for the official Eng version on Meb. Or if have good search skills, you might find it on other reading platforms. 😉
Cranium is a good and very interesting book. Like Petrichor, Cranium focused more on the investigation and the romance between Bua and Phinya developed along the way. I'm pretty sure Idol Factory will spend some big money on this series, especially with many sets and props - the plane crash site, the lab, the skulls/bone specimens, and some old artifacts. But knowing who's the director and the scriptwriter, the anticipation I used to have for this series is slowly fading.
I'd like to join you. They really need serious talk. Like a very serious talk.
Kliao's parents are certainly going to top the most hated parents/family in GL series. And if you noticed, Kliao's dad is the same actor playing Wanviva's dad. He will definitely be loathed.

I was fuming every time the family scene came up, even if it was just a phone call. I like the angst, like the convict plot etc, but not the family. Their negativity really drained my energy, so I simply skipped their parts.

Being SEAsian myself, I totally agree. I've witnessed it in my extended family. The patriarchy mindset is pervasive, especially within a lower-class family.

Just when I thought Wanviva's parents were already toxic, Kliao's parents proved me wrong. They're malicious and destructive. As much as I liked the angst, it was quite draining compared to R4U.
