Yep, the little gremlin FL was never portrayed as being too much of a pushover, so she should have told the biker…
Yup. I am with you there. I agree 100% with your rant. I hate cheaters so much, and that is exactly what the creepy biker wanted to turn the FL into.
I really wish they did not play the sad music when the biker gives up on the FL, because while it is true he did not try to SA the FL [like that fucking creepy university senior tried to do], he was also a big creep in his own right.
Maybe you are right and it would have been better if the ML punched him in the face.
The FL here is such a silly goose, with strong gremlin energy. That side of her is toned down a little later on, but it still made it very enjoyable to watch her. Also, was the FL made of honey or what? There were like 4 or 5 people crushing on her through the drama. Well, I suppose she was very cute and charismatic, so it is not really farfetched.
The FL's friend [does she count as the 2FL? I am used to 2FLs being love rivals lol] was very cute too, and woah, did she know how to dress herself in the university days! I liked the FL's gremlin fashion sense, but her friend's fashion was something else.
The ML is a bit boring if compared to the FL. I actually liked the temporary 2ML [the gremlin guy who goes to become an idol, not the FL's friend's bf], because his energy matched the FL's. But, the ML was not a bad character.
After watching both Hidden Love [loved it] and Our Secret [hated it], where the ML had big problems with his father, I was glad the ML's problems with his father were resolved early on, and his father turned out to be quite the cute character! I still think leaving your family behind to try his luck with work is a shitty thing to do, but it paid off and his wife and son forgave him, so my opinion is just that, my opinion.
On the matter of Our Secret, I am so glad the parents/in laws here are all nice. The FL's mother in Our Secret consistently raised my blood pressure. Sure, I may be suicidal, but I do not want to die having a bad time watching a frustrating drama! Anyways, both the FL' and ML's parents were lovely [I am glad FL's dad go too deep into the 'overprotective dad' territory].
Anyways, I really enjoyed this and might rewatch it in the future, for sure. As far as Chinese dramas are concerned, Hidden Love remains my favorite. If I were to rank the five c-dramas I have watched so far, it would be Hidden Love > The Day of Becoming You > Exclusive Fairytale > Love O2O > Our Secret. :D
Why wasn’t FL saying or harshly rejecting the guy who was pursing her even when she said she has a boyfriend.…
Yep, the little gremlin FL was never portrayed as being too much of a pushover, so she should have told the biker guy to fuck off the first time he hit on her. I honestly give kudos to the ML for not feeling insecure again during that incident.
On episode 3 and the ML started Duan Jiaxu'ing [tutoring, looking up to her, etc] the FL and she is already falling…
Episode 15: This is a solid 8/10 drama for me so far, but if they start with some "Zhou wants to study abroad" bullshit and he actually leaves, after it took a year for Xian to get into the same university as him, it will drop to 1/10 and only because I cannot give it 0.5/10.
Buddies, there is more to life than fucking studying and focusing on one's career. Life is hard and it actually kind of sucks most of the time. Take time to appreciate the people who love you and that you love instead of losing yourself entirely in the rat race.
I would hope the leads would reach the conclusion that they have already dedicated 99% of their lifetime to studying and working hard, and that they can now take SOME time to enjoy themselves and each other? Sadly, I do not think this is that kind of drama.
On episode 3 and the ML started Duan Jiaxu'ing [tutoring, looking up to her, etc] the FL and she is already falling…
The little group of friends has been really cute so far. The conflict between Xian and Shadi was dumb, but teenagers do be dumb. Also, any scene with the FL's mother is a contender for the worst scene in the show. I hate her.
On episode 3 and the ML started Duan Jiaxu'ing [tutoring, looking up to her, etc] the FL and she is already falling for him. Honestly, I cannot blame her.
On a different note, I hate Xian's mother with a passion. I hate her father a little bit less.
Rewatched it but i didn't like it as much as i liked it the first time. After leads started to go out, it became…
I expected/hoped to see a lot of fluff between the leads after they got together [especially because Shin Min-ah does cute stuff really well], and instead we got a lot of angst. Sure, I knew we would get to know Hong Du-sik's background at some point, but still... Such angst.
Does anyone hate Ms. Yeo's ex-husband [Mr. Chang or whatever?]. He is insufferable, his hairstyle bothers me [Not shitting on the actor here, but on the godawful hairstyle] and I sincerely wish the screen time dedicated to him was given to Oh Yoon and his daughter instead or anyone else, maybe the 2ML and "Writer Wang", or Ms. Pyo and the cute cop she likes.
On a more positive note, the couple in this krama is so cute. I love how we get to see BOTH of them slowly falling for each other, with Dr. Dimples becoming less spiky and reclusive because of him and Chief Dimples becoming less judgy because of her.
I am on episode 4, and I really like the two leads. The FL is not as expressive as I would have liked, but I will…
On episode 11, and it is nice to see the secondary leads finally becoming somewhat likeable. The 2FL seeing the ML as her "mother bird" and the 2ML seemingly settling down on the role of a cousin for the FL is reassuring.
There is already Madam Ju's firstborn [and his son, maybe his traumatized wife later also?] as big time antagonists, not to mention God herself is shady as hell, after all. I find it suffocating to watch dramas where half the characters are against the leads or doing something selfish they think will benefit the leads [like with the secondary leads almost killing the two leads earlier].
I said earlier that I hope the leads' romanced paid off, and... it did not, really. They do not make my heart flutter :( But, it is not like the romance is bad, either. I like that they very clearly and obviously like each other. It is not always the case in dramas.
I am on episode 4, and I really like the two leads. The FL is not as expressive as I would have liked, but I will just accept that as a part of her character. Not everyone is super expressive in real life either. Not everyone has 50% extra facial muscles like Shin Hye-sun has either.
The ML is cute, but I gotta say he is more of a Goblin/Dokkaebi than a demon, so far. Until I see the ML torture someone to death like Justitia/Kang Bit-na, he is a cuter, less depressed version of Kim Shin to me.
Anyways, the FL's "I am my bodyguard's bodyguard" line was fire [especially keeping in consideration she is scared for her life, so putting herself at risk for someone she does not know well was a great showcase of her appreciation for the ML], and the tango fight scene was lovely and fun!
I hope their romance pays off, because... what I dislike about this krama so far is that over 50% of the characters are nasty chaebol asshats, with some creepy Silence of the Lambs motherfucker to top it off. Oh my god, what is with kramas and the obsession with chaebol shit and serial killers.
I don’t get it why people feeling heartbroken and sympathy for SML who has been complete jerk his whole life.…
2ML reaped what he sowed, in a way. He was horrible to others, the universe clapped back and suddenly he became a sad boy. He is far from the worst 2ML I have had the displeasure of watching in the 40 or so dramas I have watched so far, though.
I felt a bit bad for him, because he never really stood a chance and even though he was a conceited jerk initially, he made a bit of an effort to change. However, think about how many girls felt exactly like he did when he played with their emotions. He reaped what he sowed, in a way. The universe clapped back and suddenly he became a sad boy.
Also, the whole red thread/fate arc was very frustrating to me.
10/10 for My Fated Boy. Finally a drama where the relationship doesn’t move like a K-drama roller coaster: one…
After watching [and really really really really loving] Hidden Love and The Day of Becoming You [not as good, but still lovely], which avoid a lot of the annoyances I had with most romance kdramas I watched, I am all aboard the cdrama romance train. Your comment just made me more excited to watch this!
