I managed to watch the show after finding a workaround for the subs syncing issue. The FL is a super annoying selfish ill-mannered brat and watching any more than the 8 eps would be a waste! Dropped
Give me spoilers please. I am also a fan of the actress but I want something with a positive ending, this appears…
Yep, it has a relatively happy ending for the FL. She has a surgery which could help her live, although with some consequences. But be ready for lots of heavy scenes and dialogues throughout the drama. Given the subject there are several "meaning of life/love" type scenes.
Gave it a try for its interesting plot - i like complicated melo stuff, but the cast turned out to be not up to the complex characterization and plotline, so dropped.
I quite enjoyed 2/3rds of the drama and then it became a little too self-indulgent. Too much pathos-ridden romance with needless long gazes and slo-mo heavy dialogues. I enjoyed the sismance and Ahn Eun Jin's acting. Kim Kyung Nam was pretty decent but somehow his whispery dialogue delivery and ridiculous hair styling distracted me (not in a good way!). But still, the juxtaposition of the two worlds, the romance and the budding sismance was lovely in the first half.
The most moving performance was without a doubt Go Doo Shim's. She made my heart ache in every emotional scene. What a fantastic actor she is.
And yes, I too wonder what's the tea behind Do Sang Woo's sudden disappearance from the show. I think his continued presence would have added more zing. The mystery bit ended a little too pat
Okay, my first daily drama & found it a super entertaining watch. In fact, got me obsessed for a few weeks. The central revenge plot is really well done. Lee Yoo Ri is as usual amazing, as were the antagonists who were interesting in their own way. I didnt like a few subplots so FFed them but otherwise, it had me glued. But its a true blue, full-on makjang so not for everyone
As usual I dont understand ratings on MDL - this is a really sweet, slice of life drama. Set completely in the countryside, the drama is all about appreciating the simpler things in life.
I did find the first few episodes hard to get through as the FL is a self-absorbed annoying snob in the beginning, but as she grows up, the drama and the characters too grow on you. I liked that the drama doesn't show her change dramatically, but little by little she matures and becomes a different, better person.
The pace IS pretty slow and the romance is a slow burn which I loved. No tension, no high-stress villainy, just a simple life-like setting ....you end up getting wrapped up in the world of the vineyard and village life. Good performances by all especially Yoon Eun Hye who was believable as a spoiled city girl maturing into a "woman of the earth". The ML has an appealing rough charm and does well.
As a 2006 drama I think the gendered tasking in the house and the aeygo jealous FL were a bit annoying but I let it go as a product of its times.
I quite enjoy slow-pace/slice of life dramas so had it on my PTW but couldnt find it anywhere. Thankfully Viki has it now. Pls watch if you like old-style dramas!
The word masterpiece gets used pretty often around here, but ime, this one truly is. The performances of the leads and the mother are incredible. Moving, painful yet optimistic, this is an unforgettable watch.
The drama has surprisingly an interesting plotline, fairly well written but the execution was somewhat lacking. I love Yeong Jung Hoon so persevered through the lack of chemistry and the slow parts, but man the FL actor -Uhm Ji Won, her blank expressions and draggy dialogue delivery really tested me. The SL did an actually better job performance wise, and I felt for her.
Finding only really poor quality vids is also really annoying - i dunno why all seem 240p or worse
Tracked down this drama on YouTube since its removed from viki for me. You can find it subbed on MBC's YT channel under the title Love & Law, though each ep is split up.
I went in without reading any reviews/comments except knowing that this was a twisted drama...and boy, did it deliver. Only the Japanese can pull off something like this. Not an easy watch, but worthwile nonethless.
I had to drop it at ep 12. Dear god, why do FLs turn into inarticulate dumb idiots after a few episodes? Plus the GF was pregnant and our FL merrily continues to daydream about him and give him reproachful looks. Got too mad with the FL's character and the plotting to continue. Not even the ML's brooding bad boy vibe could save it for me
What a lovely, mellow show! yes, slow paced but does not bore you at all. An interesting exploration of how hard…
The romance was really low key - I liked its progression but to me it did seem like she was more into the idea of getting together than him who I think was perfectly happy being close friends/besties.
What a lovely, mellow show! yes, slow paced but does not bore you at all. An interesting exploration of how hard it can be to change yourself and your life. Very realistically taken. Even though it's terribly challenging and upsets the status quo, you need to take the hard steps. Life doesnt get perfect but at least you are not living in utter dissonance.
But still, the juxtaposition of the two worlds, the romance and the budding sismance was lovely in the first half.

The heart of the show is Mori Nana who does a fantastic job of bringing to life the core character who moves and changes people around her.
