I struggle to find C-dramas I like but this was a great watch. Mature in its approach, I found it quite thoughtful in exploration of the challenges women face when it comes to balancing family and career/personal growth.
Lin Shaung is finally an FL with self respect. The process of her restoring her sense of identity and her life after experiencing betrayal and divorce felt very realistic and I loved watching her get her wins after all that struggle.
The surprise package was the character of Jiang Xi, much as I appreciated Lin Shaung, it was Jiang Xi who kinda captured my heart. Very interestingly written character with gray shades usually not seen in asian dramas. Jenny Zhang is really pretty and does a fair job of her role.
I'm thinking about to watch this drama, but I'm not sure yet.Can someone please let me know, what this drama is…
The drama is about how a woman deals with infidelity by her husband and then rebuilds her life after divorcing him. It is not romance focused. It talks about women and the struggles they face when it comes to choices between career, family and personal growth. I enjoyed the drama very much but it is more mature and a bit slowpaced in places The highlight for me was the sismance between the two FLs who work together to bring down the slimeball husband.
Post finishing: I enjoyed it all the way through. The ending made sense to me wrt Seo Jin Young and Shin Dong…
That's what I got I out of it. Its been a few months, but I think one of the last scenes is a montage of Tae Jun in US visiting Yun Hee, which I took to mean they are together.
Great cast chemistry, fast paced and interesting enough cases made this show a good watch. Even though I usually find episodic shows lacking in emotional pull, this one had enough of intrigue, laughs and emotional moments if predictable at times.
I hope you did finish this drama, despite it being a bit too long and draggy. But at least this drama has a plot…
i watched 9 episodes and gave up! too many dramas to try out and too little time to waste on a drama I cannot connect to in any way :) Unfortunately C-dramas are not for me I think.
At episode 7, and the SFL seems to be more sorted, grounded and determined than the FL. Her arc shows her taking concrete steps to move beyond her setback while all the FL has done is wander around looking morose and waylaying the ML at the strangest places to yell at him or plead with him. What's irritating is that she gives no logical reasons or plans as to why he - as the person who rightfully owns the property - should entertain her pleas except pity. Hopefully this is deliberate and the FL will show character growth ...cos right now shes annoying as heck. Will give it a couple of more episodes and then decide to drop or not. Keeping this thread as my place to rant !
Passable. The show started off contrasting the beguiling high-flying lifestyle that mom-influencers portray on social media and the often unpleasant reality behind the scenes. However mid-way, it makes a sharp turn towards to a poorly plotted makjang-cum-whodunnit which failed to retain my interest. Lee El as the main lead further compounded the problem with her bland performance. She does okay in the regular stuff, but falters majorly in scenes involving intense emotions and charged dialogues. Her range is REALLY limited.
The best performance imo was by Jin Seo Yun who played Song Jeong Ah. The surprise package was Na Yeong’s arc though it was the most tired one of a cheated-upon wife. We get a super satisfying plotline of her taking back control of her life
What an interesting drama this turned out to be! Fast-paced, interesting setting and no fillers, this is an excellent watch for those looking for something different.
The single most annoying FL ever in all my drama watching so far. Park Soo Ae is decent enough.. largely but my…
The drama has two major issues: lack of a substantial plot and poorly written characters. All characters have no depth, no growth. The love triangle and the angst-ridden relationship between Andrea and Eun Ha are the only plot focus, but feel very flimsy cos we keep going around in circles retreading the same ground. Even Andrea's moral struggles failed to move me because of the way he gets to that crossroad. Eun Ha behaves with so much selfishness all thru under the guise of undying love that Andrea never has a chance to understand where his heart truly lies (God or her). She is clingy and guilt trips him at every turn. Poor Andrea. Poor Woo Jin too because Eun Ha uses him when she fancies and throws him away the moment Andrea appears or something challenging comes up. For eg. she pursues a relationship with him up to engagement while Andrea was in Italy when she didnt love him in the slightest, but the moment she finds she's ill she runs away w/o telling him. Arrgh. Eun Ha really pissed me off.
The single most annoying FL ever in all my drama watching so far. Park Soo Ae is decent enough.. largely but my goodness, her character is written awfully. Rant in comment below.
Ji Jin Hee does a fine job while Jo Hyun Jae falters in the heavier scenes a little but overall ok. The plot drags terribly post midpoint and esp last few eps. So much so that the major dilemma before Andrea loses significance. I watched the last 3 eps on 1.5x just to see what happens! Not really recommended but watch if you are more interested in checking out the leads' performances.
