i cant believe that people here are more pressed about Petes absence than the fact that it seems like Kengla-Techno are going to get a legit storyline...
(like ... dont get me wrong, im also annoyed hes not going to be in the drama but the KlaNo couple getting focus pissess me much more haha)
I've only seen Socialization Understanding of Dance, but I want to watch all of them, except maybe Land of Rain.…
glad you found them interesting! tbh i watched land of rain because so many people recomended it after my first article. personally, i dont find the synopsis or the story that appealing (though in the end i cant say i regret watching that special :))
This is so freaking good! The boys are adorable, they deliver their scenes very well and the script seems well…
feels like they gave the script much more thought than to any of the recent thai bls ive seen, which is surprising, considering the production of Gameboys started with the begining of the pandemics and it is one of the first filipino bls. yes, its just a mini-show but still the quality is so damn good. im impressed
what is that even supposed to mean that its not some LGBT show? because isn't bl just gay shows aimed at woman
yep, that's what ive been trying to say! :))
i honestly think that this whole genre (be it BL or LGBTQ+, western or asian) would benefit if we (the community) actually started creating sub-genre categories with clearer definitions so we can know what to expect from the series/movie. that way we wouldnt have again and again have a conversation about certain aspects of BL dramas that are definitely part of bl genre but are not very good in great context of lgbtq+ cinema (that is until the producers will start picking bl stories that are actually well written. though there is nothing wrong on liking simple bls with focus on unrealistic romance hahah)
is it bad that i dont see their relationship last 10 years?? oh well, im gonna watch it anways and it better be cute. cant wait to see more of mantype, tho...

@ugly duckling @reefpicker @ crlb this is a really interesting discussion, i hope you wont mind im going to drop my own two cents here
isnt the division between BL genre and LGBT+ cinema based on target audience? like... im not saying gay/lgbt people dont watch BL genre but i think we can agree on the fact that target audience of BLs are heterosexual women. therefore, many of BLs are actually unrealistic almost "hetero" stories applied to same-sex relationships. thats why many cliches and toxic views are transferrend into BLs. i feel like BLs are subgenre of lgbt cinema, but not all lgbt cinema titles can be called BL. BLs are about gay relationships, however, bls are not really made to promote the... "real" portrayal of gay relationships, healthy relationships or like... actual issues. they are entertaining, and they are definitely not unreal, but they are also very often out-of-touch with real world issues.
LGBT+ cinematography strives to portray the real lives and identity of LGBT+ community. target audience is not really that clear - its both lgbt community as well as people who like good movies.

overall it reminds me of those "social media AUs" that are sometimes in fanfictions but like legit enjoyable. cant wait for next episode!
