A BIG thank you for this article! These issues have been bothering me for some time and i am glad that someone pinpointed problems with clear examples. I admit that i am very much guilty of liking/watching some of these dramas, but i always feel very uncomfortable when i see young girls watching these and not realizing how problematic it is and actually finding this /romantic/. it is sooo scarry to see that young girls are taught by media that abuse is 'romance'

this movie was so nice! I really enjoyed how /similar/ were lives of main characters. and it was not even that much frustrating because the movie was not too long.

oh no... i was kinda curious about this drama because of the "ghost of lustful virgin posesses shy girl" thing and also excited because it has very high rating (and Kim Seul Gi!!), but after watching first episode i am kinda disappointed. Although acting is not bad and story is pretty ok, it doesnt feel very original at the same time :(.
I was expecting that 1st ep will hook me on but i am definitely not :/. I hope it will get better and the feeling of averageness will pass.

wow. this drama was really something... first half was at least cute if nothing else, but the second half was absolute mess where nothing happened?? it was just full of empty conversations about nothing. i wish this was like 10 episodes long because in that case it would be pretty decent drama.

the only really enjoyable thing about this was the manager of the webtoon dudes. she was so funny

I dont mean to spoil the fun to you but dont expect too much from HSKOS. I found this drama very annoying (However, Seo In Guk is good in every drama where i've seen him). I recommend Reply 1997 (which i found overall much better and SIG is also very cute there :D)

I know that the romance was totally not the main point of the whole story (and i did not watch it because of it) but i have to admit that i really enjoyed the dynamics of Ji An and Lee Hyun. They were very cute together :3

And Park Bo Geum!!!! Holy shiet!!! That actor has some really mad skills. His face relays so many emotios

I just wish it was september already so i could start this drama. It seems like they learned their lesson last time and the duration of one episode will be bearable :D. I am a little bit disappointed that they casted Hyeri (and not Han Groo for example) but lets not forget that they made good casting jobs in last two seasons :))

this is my first time watching k-drama of this genre so i hope it wont turn out bad but so far it's pretty good. kyungsoo's acting gave me some serious chills tho, i hope to see him in more roles like this :DD

well.. so far it's good and interesting? its only 2 episodes and gives me some The mentalist vibes but i'm not a person who judges drama after such short time. The good rating might be also caused by the fact that Seo In Guk plays the main character and there was also appearance of Kyungsoo from exo so it might be fangirls

i really like this drama, especially first 4 episodes. i keep comming back to watch them from time to time
(and i'm quite shocked it has such low rating here? it deserves more)

shouldnt be Eun Bi the one who decides who to date? Dont get me wrong i also shipped her with Tae Kwang but lets be honest here: she didnt love him, she was glad she met some true friend in this madness and to me it felt like she somewhat pitied him. TK also loved her with this blind puppy (?) love, again probably because he met someone who was nice to him. Eun Bi clearly liked Yi Ahn more romantically for like.. half of the drama but she didnt allow herself to be in love because she thought/ knew that it was love for Eun Byul...
So i think this ending was handled well... but i still wish it was more focused on friendship element and not so much on the love triangle :<

there were so many plot holes and characters acted so ilogically sometimes... but i still enjoyed it. It is true that it could be more focused on other students' problems and development than on shipping because school series was always about all students.. but well.. i'm glad i got to see this many good young actors - it was a great surprise.
and i am happy with the end. even though i rooted for the other guy (dont wanna spoil ;)) the ending wasnt too painful.
rewatch value is literally 0 though. the little mystery element which was poorly handled drops the value this low.

if i understood correctly, the drama was aired by 2 episodes at the same day, so you could say that two 45 min long episodes were aired as one 90 min long episode (hovewer its not necessary to watch them together, if you know what i mean :D)

i've seen only few episodes so far but it seems terribly slow-paced (especially when i compare it with 1997). i hope it gets better as time progresses (but idk.. 21 episodes per 70 minutes seems like too long for my liking)

you are overthinking it :D. just try first 2 episodes and then you will see (and i bet you wont regret time spent watching it :D). besides from first and last ep i think the overall time spent in 2012 is like 5% of screen time and the rest of the drama is focused on 1997.

just a quick heads up to potential watchers: be careful where u watch this movie. All online versions had really crappy subtitles so i recommend downloading subtitles from trusted source ;).
As for the movie... it wasnt bad but it would be better if it was at least half an hour shorter. i got really bored at the end tbh.

Finally finished this drama and i totally loved it! At first I was hesistating to give it 10/10 points but the last episode was fantastic and so was the rest of this drama. The cast was absoulutely amazing, I hope to see more of Han Groo in the future :D
