I see what you’re getting at, but I think we’re talking about slightly different things.My point was that it isn’t shoved in our faces, it’s not really in plain sight in a way that an average viewer would immediately latch onto. As you said, people who watch a lot of true crime can piece it together more easily, but that’s kind of because we tend to do a bit of mental gymnastics and connect dots that aren’t obvious to everyone. I say this because I had seen many comments in the beginning, pointing fingers at all the male leads shown in this drama. Which is why I referenced my comment after watching 4th episode. It was less about whether we could guess it, and more about how unsettling the whole thing is when you take a step back.

Hell is empty and all the devils are here. I have watched so many dramas but this one has been the hardest to watch. Every episode is gutwrenchin and heartbreaking.

not really, since the first episode all the hints lead to Gibeom until it was proven otherwise. it was not in our faces, that’s what makes it so chilling when the camera pans to him in the jail cell. an ordinary guy no one suspected committed such atrocities. I do agree on the latter part. It is about the incompetence and systemic failure.

The incompetence authorities showed, costed so many lives. Their ego was more important than actual lives. It is so sad. I also remember it was mentioned that the culprit killed his sister, which is why I wasn’t so suspicious of him later. Someone also told me jealousy cannot be a motive because he has a wife so it would not make sense to have an inferiority complex. Judging how he killed his own brother, I don’t think anything (feelings or thought process) has to make sense to us when it is a psychopathic serial killer.

I have been commenting since 4th episode aired that it was him. Even after so many misleads, i had a feeling it would be this man. (I finished watching 7th ep)
