It is understandable. Within 16 episodes they crammed in time travel, parallel universe and the concept of reality warping. So a bit messy, is expected.

This is not esport drama bro. It's a romance with massive Honor of Kings advert and Chinese space program propaganda. I don't have any issues with the latter. The esport phase goes away after like 10 episodes. The VFX is regarding the space exploration.

It's sad when people think of chemistry as 'sexual tension'. Chemistry is how two people get along with each other, matching real life emotions as close as possible. It can be love, hate, admiration, friendship, brotherhood, sisterhood, respect and many other things. The relationship between the leads evolves (the drama is the female lead POV) from hatred/fear to extreme caution to curiosity to admiration to confusion to attraction and when they enter the romance phase, it's burning hot. Each step of the way, they matched each other toe to toe conveying all those states of mind.

Nothing wrong with propaganda but it has to be done in style, like Top Gun Maverick. The special effects in this drama is just..yikes. And cdramas have the best special effects in Asia.

That's the thing. In Secretary Kim, Park Min Young had great chemistry with Seo Joon aUrA dude but, she had that from the start. So when her relationship evolved , I still felt like it was the secretary/confidante-boss relationship. Didn't feel the passion. At least not like the one she had in Healer. Also I did not feel the passion in Marry My Husband.

It is basically a visit Dubai drama with a crazy plot but the performance from the actors elevated that ten folds. The idea was pretty cool but the execution was meh at best. But then again, deep diving into the genie/iblis lore would draw further backlash.
