Opinion about the drama aside, you are changing your tone. At first you said, 'my queen' term was putting someone on a pedestal, while clearly in the specific scene, it was a term of endearment where the FL declares her as his equal. Now why in the name of all the gods and dogs are you bringing up the historical kings and queens ? How is that relevant. Oh my head hurts..

You didn't even watch the scene bro. Where's the pedestal here ? or do you think it literally meant royalty here ?
Even if your assumption based on the term 'my queen' is true, which it isn't as you don't even know the context as you haven't seen it, how does it corelate to chemistry ?
If you don't like a drama, it's fine. As I have said, not everyone likes everything but better not add crazy arguments lol

Why would the term "my queen" send you running ? bruh. "the winner becomes the king. But I won today, so I am the king. You're the queen", Yin Guo tells Yiyang in front everyone after winning the 9-ball tourney. As both a tease and a term of endearment, dedicating her win to him. It's a cute scene with overflowing chemistry. "facepalm".
It's a weird drama where things just..happen ? Like a linear video game, where you are dropped at a random location for a skirmish and when you're done, you never see that location again.
But the focal point is the romance and that's kinda sweet so I finished it. The leads are smart. Plenty of sweetness, little sorrow, some angst, some longing..the whole nine yards. Don't expect the politics, abracadabra and the worldbuilding to make any sense.
i cant help think about what if the drama didnt consist of Lin Yu Sen, and the leads are only xi guang and zhuang…
People would think of him as extremely lucky. Time and tide wait for none, unless of course luck is on your side.
If you take out LYS, then it would be a snoozefest. And Xi Guang's love has to unconditional like Sang Yan's was or her having obstacles like her job or some other stuff, in order for them to end up together.
cant believe this, i'm logging into this website just to leave this comment; WTF is up with the writing on the…
The show itself revolves around dumb misunderstandings so they made sure every primary character has some role to play in them lol. Tbh when the dust settles, the BFF does admit that she didn't see it coming. As for the yiyang part, that was a generic advice, not a serious suggestion or anything.
I didn’t like how she was treating him…she really pissed me off when he had to ask her if she’s not going…
It's mostly an adaptation issue from the source material. Ning is more accurate compared to Wei. If they had adapted Wei more accurately, like much more psychotic, Ning's actions would have made much more sense.
not bro being so jealous even after having kids and kicking his own son 😭
In the novel, he is jealous of his own kids because they take a lot of Ning'er's attention away from him lol. So petty. But it also explores their married life in depth.
I don't understand if this is actually set in modern times. A novel written by a woman? Is this actually a modern-day…
Showing reincarnation after death or self inflicted death is absolutely a no go in China unless it is shown like that in the drama. Ignore the modern day bits, just couple of seconds added to bypass the censor laws.
As much as I love Bailu, I couldn't stand Shu Yi's character in this... made it hard to watch the middle arc of…
Her character is alright, only alive person among a bunch of zombies. She did her best given that the writing is so weird lol..plot: guinness world record for stretching several misunderstandings as lengthy as possible.
It really is how people say, the chemistry between the leads is great and it's worth watching for them, but the…
The plot indeed is ass. Legally Romance has some office settings similarities but with a better plot, better side characters and very similar chemistry between the leads (Song Zuer is an acting titan) but that show has exactly the same rating.
Probably because TTEOTM traumatized people, they use this show for recovery. Ass plot be damned.
If you had to attach an example to the term 'bang average', then it would be this drama. I'd say it's 60% Bai Lu and rest..everything and everyone else. At times, I felt like it's a simulated reality like the Truman Show, and every single character is a 2D AI NPC, and Bai Lu is Truman Burbank (Jim Carrey). The writer of this show was high on dried greens most of the time writing this. Also, 36 episodes for modern romance stories should be a crime punishable by screeching chalk sound on chalkboard. But the offbeat nature of it is entertaining, hence I watched it fully.
When will China ever gonna improve on their drama vehicle process photography ? It's shite in most dramas, notably in this one. They are still stuck with the 1960s rear projection. It sucks donkey bollocks.

The writers were high anyway.
I agree with the 2ml issue. In the source material, the dude is a background character. So trying to reinvent him, the screenwriter fumbled.
