Same thing happened in older Jdorama remake of Lovely Complex manga... I open first ep very randomly just as background but Im taken back by hearing the opening soundtrack !!! Been a very long time to hear a soundtrack like a SOUNDTRACK. I actually replayed it before starting the ep?! And then first scene opened with ZONG FENG YAN aka da ge from ''Singing All Along'' while background instrumentals were still as amazing, I felt like: OKAY IM IN* gives her attention to supposedly background drama/video instead of original tab on screen...
I know they try their best to create female focused dramas lately with an old family having daughters which are the leads in most modern cdramas. And usually most of time those daughters also has daughters cause you know its female centric.Sometimes even those daughters has daughters XD I mean at least add a bit difference in stories at times? like still female centric but add a son and give him a complicated bride relationship (without being full villain role!).Would so much fun and interesting to watch nicer human being in laws (IF they can create it!) OR just create daughters all the time but at least give them different problems or povs from usual cliches like a dead fiancee/grieve problem?, maybe a lost children but mother couldnt move on in years of from that trauma?, a daughter who is going through school violence/bullying, etr etr...
ps: writer has a disturbing sense of humor with farting & poop scenes :c Let alone creating a funny scene with these s-he uses it right when a very serious scene is happening related to middle daughter....
Seen many dramas with slice of life-family & makjangs BUT Ive never ever seen such a mother ... she made me feel so disgusted with whole story because writer made her into the lead role while everyone was adjusting to her ways in most of their life! acting like she was an okay person... so rich by the half of drama yet no one ever tried to send her to hospital for therapy... not even thinking about it! the way she was in ep16?! I felt like my blood pressure went so high... Its a modern serie filmed in recent years how can 3 screen writer come together and write such things for female lead?! PLUS IT COMES FROM HER OWN MOTHER... GEE if this was horror or thriller like some Jdoramas where some family end up killing each other this mother would be a fit to be in such a story!

Her character in Rise of Ning was so straightforward & pure also such a lovely plumb figure she looks so gorgeous in those costume style & hair accs! I loved her chracter and look forwards to every short second she got :c it was just too short.. Even her lovelines were interesting and sweet. I can only hope to see her more in costume dramas<3

1-30 dragged unnecessarily with mother & youngest son & his stupid lying game.Way too much screen time wasted on their scenes instead of worthy story & characters. last 3 eps were wasted with nonsense cancer plot thats also biggest reason why I take points I was going to give to drama... I was mad fangirling when I heard there will be a drama for it after some more years xD This makes me feel old I miss my 20s...
