Im rewatching for the sake of lead girl & whoever has scenes with her.She is such a precious girl character very rare to come by in both modern & period dramas... Im still bitter about her ending with lead guy. Not that I hate him or anything BUT I sincerely believe she deserves better/she could have done better than him... not only as husband & partner for life but also as family I mean as his whole as* family line... She could have done much better & be even more happy and dont go through some nonsense heartaches IF ONLY writer didnt had a rule for leads has to end up together cause they are leads.
oh boy I have to say Ive never seen this level of perfect & gorgeous costume/styling on Liu Xue Yi before! Looks like there will be quite lots of funny & lighthearted moments between the lead couple in first half! Im so glad for that because I ccan never connect well with dramatic second half IF the progress between leads didnt get worked on well enough in first place :3
5 episodes were enough for me after that I checked comments and be glad to drop it with that amount of watching! Nothing interesting or not even a single character which made me feel checking them more. Video was playing and I even forgot I was watching while doing some work beside table... No chemistry between leads I also believe lead actor(!) is quite stiff even tho lead actress were good script wasnt enough for her to show it off. Just nahhh
so many gorgeous costumes & textures, lovely filming sets with crappy unworthy 'what on earth is this' script. ps. Wei's dubber was one of the famous dubber so my brain was busy remembering Dylan Wang, Zeng ShunXi, Wu Lei & Allen Fang's characters I watched this voice with while I was busy trying to focus on Miles Wei's face...
I wanted to see more of both 3 sisters' lives & relationships with grandma & their father instead of the younger generation. IF ONLY AHHH IF ONLYYY.Last couple of episodes where sisterhood of them were shown was just awesome so precious so heartfelt with all veteran actresses<3
Its worthy to watch IF you want to see a relatable slice of life, family & love genre with excellent casting, then you will love it as I did. Its been a while to find a sincere heartfelt drama for these genres from modern Cdramas.
ps. the very last drama about grandpa's past was so unnecessary.... so random and sudden in last 2 episodes lol did they try to pull a Kdrama card in cdrama?!
He has the charm of a fox spirit from those stories! You would never thought this way when you see his face in photos but while watching him, in a small moment where he smirks or just smiles with his eyes/gaze you will feel it! I dont know why or how he still didnt get any roles in costume dramas it will fit his looks very much even tho he also looks really good in modern dramas. His role in ISLANDS is really lovely.

Yup they did very good with remake of drama. In novel Fei Kouer had many faces to hide her real face. Since she was such a famous thief she used many different face make up thingy ın novel.
Her costumes and details, hair & color palettes are up to my liking I dont get the negativity from Cfans this time. It looks very novel & exotic to me and I didnt even read the novel yet...
She is so underrated in my opinion. Both can support modern & costume drama looks so well too. If she can have more costume dramas with my other faves I would be so happy... Kinda tired of replaying old roles by now x'D
I dont want to sound like a negative but reading this list its really not fair to Li Lan Di. She is quite underrated with her talent of acting I know but still really not fair😭 Also Im surprised of not seeing Wang Chu Ran here...
