I don't watch Chinese dramas, but I wonder what the quality of majority can be, when actors shoot 5 long drama…
They dont do it all at same time... Most of them are filmed before and spent a lot of time in editing/under review first.Then they go for sponsor finding etr stuff and waiting for distribution license I think. Sometimes dramas end up shelved and you dont get them even in 5 years...Some of them took even longer and boom suddenly they release at once and you end up watching your faves looking so young lols
Just watched a video of Zhao Liying as Shen Li with both filming before & after with edits while she fights with her spear.I thought they would do better with her precious spear just like in novel but I guess not... it looks so normal and cheap😭🥲 it almost looks like a diy project I cant even x'D
You should write more honest reviews! I almost chokes on my drink while reading it its so nice to see there are others who thought like me about this drama you know? I was checking from day one even before it started airing and so many people were going on & on about it being wonderful.... I checked first 10 eps with skips just to see if they kept the parts from novel.(I dropped that novel years ago but still remember how bland, boring and without a plot) Once I realize drama wasnt better than novel I didnt even add to my dropped list lol I thought I was losing my mind or my brains were burning out while reading nice comments about it. Just saw a quite long trailer on twitter and I loved it. I hardly like movies they are too short for me to connect with characters also story but sometimes with warm hearted slice of life stories goes so well as a 'movie'. This is why I feel so hopeful of this one. Trailer looked like they blend tragicomedy well as if first half will be warm & funny and other half will be emotional packed with tears :') Im also very surprised to see Teresa Li with such a serious slice of life story! I cant wait to see her performance. Cant say much on actor I dont think I watched him before but he looked believable in trailer...
So pretty and her aura is a lot mature than her same age actresses! I thought I would watch her in some main roles with slice of life,romance genre after 'Because of Love' but it never happened :/... she deserves better than supporting roles.
I actually checked some of the novels of these series, just to see IF drama made them that way and novel would be better. Because in most drama remake from novel cases I end up loving novels :/ BUT her novels that I checked are actually worse than drama's script...

2-Warm on a Cold Night (reallly interesting worl build and unique characters esp lead guy's background BUT/YET sadly writer never tries to tell more to viewers I dont know why?! Im still quite frustrated how they waste such original idea and all. Worthy to watch though. Both leads are from my faves it was a joy to watch them as pairing in a costume serie with this kind of concept/story)

-Young Blood 1&2 (I cant remember their cases actually but I remember really loving season 1 mostly because of lead couple's characters<3 Played by my faves especıally Zhou YuTong! -An Oriental Odyssey (this was one hell of a wild ride, loved both leads I even went to read google translate novel for them...) The Moon Brightens for You(similar to Love in Between but a lot more lighthearted vibe.loved both my faves as a couple with these characters<3 )
The Advisors Alliance (2017) this one wasnt 'mystery' genre but political instead.Its deserve a mention at this part because lead guy character Sima Yi's brilliant scheming mind! I still remember being ''no way?! for real... SERIOUSLYYYY?!'' a lot of times while watching xD Quite serious and slice of life. a lot more mature than other serıes I wrote here...

-When a Snail Falls in Love ( This was and is one of my faves since the day I finished watching it. I also read the novel but liked drama better because the casting for lead couple! the chemistry and acting was heartfelt with them being those lead characters<3 novel was way too robotic. If you end up liking this they are also a couple in another serie called 'Ode to Joy 1 & 2 btw!)

Made it until 15-20 eps and then put it on hold again... I cant feel interested in their cases somehow? There were some other series with workıng case & romance scenes side by side which I liked while watching but something is missing with this...
