I haven't read the original novel yet, (but the center of the story is friendship and the ideal of justice) that both will fight for. (but... looking at other dramas of the same type, there is always a female character alongside the main protagonist, whether she is a friend, or something else (she may be in the story), but without being the main center of the story.

I get your point. I really enjoyed "In Blossom", if there are some flaws, they are forgivable to me, because Liu Xue Yi is wonderful in this drama. His careful interpretation of the character was meticulous and full of charm, poetry, innocence and wit at the same time. The heroines matched him perfectly. I loved seeing Liu Xue Yi as the county magistrate, I loved every poetic and flirtatious scene of him with his beloved. I loved Yan Cai Wei helping him in the fight when he was blind. I loved the "intimate" yet artistic, watchable and beautiful moment of the drama. I loved every story, within this story. (As for the ending, yes, I wanted more from them. But... it's always like that in the end. They have to resolve the overall story, and sometimes the protagonists have few moments. But the scene of the case being resolved during the burning of incense was so cool. And even the last moment of the two of them, looking at the city they both protected. When the camera draws attention to their intertwined hands. I loved this simplicity, and this intimacy, shown in a simple and poetic way. I'm being honest, I loved this drama, and I loved Liu Xue Yi in this drama (unlike a well-meaning fan who thinks otherwise, I think Liu Xue Yi was well valued in every scene of this drama.) I love "In Blossom". But when I read slightly different opinions, I try to understand the reasons, and I think a drama can be even better than it already is, but I'm satisfied.

The ending has a closure (in one sense) and an openness (in another sense). So I wasn't dissatisfied. I think this drama is a golden gem (Liu Xue Yi is so wonderful). I loved the romance, the widower in love, the mysterious family cases, love affairs, betrayal, etc. I love the music in the drama. I loved the hero's interaction with the two heroines. I loved him doing martial arts. In short: I loved everything.πποΈβ€οΈ
