I'm more disappointed than anything, truthfully. Tae Jeong did not deserve it; he does not deserve such "friends" if they're treating him like he's disposable. The chapter depicted the student using slurs and acting aggressively toward Korean students, which ultimately resulted in an adult teacher hurling the N-word and other derogatory terms at the child to resolve the conflict."
Also, I believe that the teacher was responding to the student's "yellow mickey" subject that he brought up. Whilst the fact that he said the racial slur, I do not condone such actions-- especially in fictional context and real life.
And to quote the thing that the teacher said, "I have. In fact, quite a lot. East Harlem, a place where I used to live, was an area with extreme racism. Especially there was severe racism against Asians by black people." I will not, however, be mentioning which racial slur that was used because I, myself, am not of that ethnicity nor am I racist.
To give a definition of what "yellow monkey" is: It's a slur that are commonly used against East/Southeast Asians mostly Japanese People( 日本人) because the word “yellow” has been referred to Asians for a long time while “Monkey” is used against Japanese people because people say that they look like monkeys, and that is why “Yellow Monkey” is a slur.
