My Journey with Dramas: The Beginning While my time on this platform has been small, my journey with dramas began back in 2016 when I happened across an advertisement for Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo. And, as I imagine occurred with many of you on your first encounter with dramas, and to quote The First Frost’s Sang Yan, I’m hooked. I started Legend of the Blue Sea soon after, which aired at the same time, and from there clicked play on many more. As such, my drama journey commenced with Korean dramas. Seeing my profile, it is likely clear I did not stay with one country, one language, one genre. My world expanded, and the stories I met grew with it. It was inevitable, really. I have loved stories since I was a kid, devouring every book I got my hands on. |
An Evergrowing Love
What do I love so much about dramas? I struggle to put it into words. There are times when it is purely entertainment. You may find me watching an action drama for the thrill of adrenaline, a romance for the flutter of butterflies in my stomach, a thriller for the tension. But, at the heart of it, my favorites often speak to me. Stories contain lifetimes: of people, their relationships, their successes and hardships, and most importantly, the things and the people they love. They are a reminder of the beauty of life and of humanity. They are a lesson in the expansiveness of humanity and, as a result, remind us that we, too, are human. In their essence, every story has a soul and the stories we hold dearest are a window into ours. And, at the end of the day? I am a lover who loves love.
