Came here because Wang Run Ze gave me severe second lead syndrome in Don't Disturb My Study. His acting is as expected, and a lot more mature on top of that.
In this drama, their chemistry saved the whole thing. The plot lacks a sense of urgency, coupled with the poor production, which makes watching this feel like a chore. I couldn't care less about the company aspect and had to rely a lot on the fast-forward button because the pacing is really draggy. Also, this is a fantasy drama so you need to suspend your belief to watch this.
Nevertheless, once you learned about their past/backstory, aka the reason why ML came, their chemistry would shoot over the roof. The kisses were heart-fluttering, teeming with longing and affection, which makes the entire show worth watching.
MY HEART CAN'T HANDLE THIS. While waiting for the rest of the Starry Love episodes to upload on Viki, I decided to pick this up and HOLY SHIT did this hit my heart good. I'm literally only on episode 5 but DAMN, the blood scene liives rent free in my head right now.
Also I recognize the ML from Eternal Love of Dream so this is a WILD difference in character, which makes this all the more intriguing!

It is implied in his talks with Dal that he had a slightly... naughty history before taking his vows/devoting himself to being pontifex, and daaaamn it shows 🔥 😏 The man is all but innocent haha. Just being in love is new for him afaik, and i love how whipped he is for her.

I have never been this excited to see a "first kiss" in a BL. The sexual tension is so real it actually hurts for me to watch. Their chemistry is phenomenal.
