This drama really reminds me of Dominion and Devotion. The whole fake-eunuch trope, plus that constant undercurrent of sadness and melancholy that’s pretty much in every scene. Both actresses absolutely nail the cross-dressing role. There’s a real depth to both series that most mini-dramas just don’t have. I’m really hoping the ending won’t be as mentally crushing as Dominion and Devotion was… fingers crossed. But damn, what a strong start.
1 - How did this even pass China's censorship? This short drama dared to go to places not even those vertical 2 mins per episode dramas have dared to go. The ML was eating her up...literally. If anything the chemistry on this one is sizzling.
2 - Am I the only one that felt the ending song was familiar? It gave Pretty Little Liars "Secret" vibes.
3 - I was not expecting a masterpiece from a short drama but the writing became really weak for the last 10 episodes or so. While I barely felt like skipping any scenes up until that point, I just started to become bored around ep 30. Maybe they should have kept it shorter to avoid adding subplots they did not know how to handle.
Overall, for a short drama, it was not bad BUT do not expect a strong plot or anything. There are short dramas with better plots, this one stands out more for the original plot (although not a very well written one) and for the chemistry and HUGE amount of kisses/skinship. If that is enough for you, you will probably enjoy this.
Hopefully Fan Jing and Cui Yu Xin can be like the couple Cheng Feng Tong and Daigouzeng who have more than three project dramas together in the future.

And btw, already a few episodes into this minidrama we are made to understand (and later even directly told) that the sword wasn't broken and it was all a set up. So, it was enough to be patient to see where the story was going.
Throw away the logic, sit back, and enjoy the ride, with many arcs and tropes thrown in and mixed together in Affinity! This is very creative. I was hooked from the beginning and simply can’t wait for the next day for new episodes. The kisses were hot, but the hugs were my favorites. OMG, every time felt so deep, comforting, and envious, I must say 😍 Hope Fang Jin and Cui Yu Xin can reunite in another drama ❤️
I am going to watch, but omg!!! this actress, the FL I don't like her acting. She's has no depth, no emotions, she's just, there. I'm going to give it a chance, because it seems like a cute drama.
