This guy, I swear.

1. Always in a wig drama
2. Always second fiddle
3. Always, always stands out. The number of MLs that get upstaged by him, I can't even.

Oh except the 2 (?) times he was the lead (that I have been able to get access to and watch) - he's great, it's not his fault the show as a whole is unbearable. When am I gonna get to see him as the main lead in a well-written drama? :(

STRAIGHT MASTERPIECE totally deserved my 10/10 ratings. I could connect with every character throughout the series, such an amazing experience. Loved the ending as well.

This is very much meant to be a fun, campy historical fantasy drama (not surprising since it’s based on a webtoon). I haven’t laughed so much watching a K-drama in a while. If you’ve recently watched a serious/intense/dramatic/melo drama, this is the perfect palate cleanser that will help you to reset and recover. The only issue I have with it is that the story and pacing seem to be all over the place (I suspect that they had too many writers who contributed to adapting the webtoon into a screenplay) but the acting (I think Se Hyun is super endearing and lovable in this role and Taec Yeon is doing an outstanding job of portraying the cold-ML-who’s-only-warm-to-FL) plus the director, who also directed one of my favorite K-dramas, “My Perfect Stranger” is elevating the quality of the show and making it enjoyable. I can’t speak to how well it was adapted since I haven’t read the webtoon but if you like a show that doesn’t take itself too seriously and promises (and delivers) some campy entertainment that sometimes seems to poke fun at drama tropes, I think you’ll enjoy this show.
