Relationship between a bodyguard and the one he protects. Both are beautifully filmed, very moving, and emotional stories that have a unique and haunting tone.

Both MLs are aliens with special powers who are attempting to return home, only to decided to stay on earth, at the risk of their own lives, when they fall in love with the FL. The FL is a celebrity. Similar melancholy tone and star-crossed romance feel.

A main character (FL vs. ML) is thought of as dangerous and hunted down/attempted to be killed by the "good" people. They are saved and protected by the other lead. Both have similar tones and settings, and excellent battle scenes.

Both are Xianxia romances with many fascinating, complex characters. Similar elements include spiritual pets, settings, and tone.

The main character ends up inside a drama or story and ends up changing the plot. Both are short fun Chinese dramas with a similar vibe and neither plot takes itself seriously.
