I came back to check if it got any better - seems like it didn't so I'm glad I dropped it on ep1, sadly won't be watching anymore. Also glad to see the comments finally reflecting reality.

sadly the people who rate the content based on their opinions of the content itself are very unheard of on MDL.…
Haha it is similar to poking a wasp nest! That is true

I like to remind myself that there are a lot of "fans" who are young children (or act like young children) and/or have no critical thinking skills, and they have access to the comments and lots of spare/free time, so like to stir up trouble/drama because they have nothing better to do. In my opinion, as long as you're true to yourself, and give an honest rating and/or review based on the episode(s) you have watched, then that's all you can do to show GMMTV your opinion. At the end of the day, GMMTV will only respond to money and reviews/ratings. If they see all shows have high ratings then they will think all shows are amazing, based on untrue/inflated ratings/reviews, so they will keep giving us poor-quality shows.

Unfortunately, what a lot of young viewers (maybe some old too, but the majority young) seem to think is if they give a show a high rating based on the fact an actor they love is in it, then they are doing a good thing for the actor they are a fan of. But doing it like that harms the overall quality of shows that get released, and they start to only care about putting the right actors together in shows to bring in money, instead of focusing on high-quality productions to bring in money.

You can always block and report people on MDL and to the police if they harass you. Hope you enjoy the rest of the show!

I agree with ohm’s acting. Leng’s acting needs improvement but hey what can we do it’s his first series…
I understand it's Leng's first series. Honestly, placing him in such a major role with high expectations feels unfair to him. It must have been really overwhelming for him. They should have cast someone more experienced for Q's part and give Leng roles that better suit his current abilities, let him to grow more naturally as an actor.

There’s a big difference between enjoying an actor and acknowledging when their performance or the show itself needs improvement. Just because an actor is popular or loved doesn’t mean we should settle for lower quality.

We, as viewers, should hold shows to a higher standard, especially when we know that talent and potential exist. GMMTV has produced great series in the past, but in recent years, there’s been a noticeable drop in quality. Why should we accept poor writing, miscasting, or sloppy production choices just because a familiar actor is cast? When a talented actor is placed in a show with these issues, it can overshadow their potential. Similarly, putting a new actor in such a situation can hurt their career too, as they’re not given the right environment to grow and showcase their abilities

There’s nothing wrong with loving an actor but still expecting the production to give them the tools they need to shine.

Contains general impressions but no major spoilers:

Audio: The quality was inconsistent. Some sounds were overly compressed, with key effects like footsteps missing, while others, like swallowing, were oddly loud. The sound effects didn’t fit the genre, and the soundtrack also felt out of place. These issues prevented me from feeling fully immersed in the episode.

Acting: Lengso’s acting, as I expected, was not high quality. It felt forced, particularly in a 'drunk' scene and the parts where he was in a chair. Some of the dialogue at that point was also weak. It's surprising that no one on set, like the director, stepped in to help him refine those moments. I feel like they prioritised the Ohmleng pairing over casting someone more capable for this role.

Character Development: Q’s character felt pasted into the story at the last minute. He doesn’t fit the world they’ve built. I even wondered if the role was originally written for someone else. This is especially disappointing because he’s supposed to be a lead.

Plot Holes: The biggest plot hole for me involves Min and James. It didn’t make sense for James to suggest illegal activities with so little buildup or context between the characters. It didn’t feel believable.

Budget Issues: There seems to be a serious budget mismanagement in this show. It was odd to see Ohm’s car being used in filming. Why not budget for a proper prop car? The speak-easy scene was shot in a glamorous location, but it looked empty without enough background actors. If I was a potential customer on a night out, I would take one look around and choose not to go in because it looked boring! And a particular rubber gun used in a close-up had visible tears, revealing the white rubber inside. This is a big oversight, especially when better props (like cheap airsoft guns) are easy to get. There was a moment when we were looking at cobwebs, and they looked so fake and cheap, like they were bought from a party supplier for a last minute spooky halloween party.

Pacing & Genre: The relationship is developing too quickly, which doesn’t match the genre or the story presented in trailers. I felt like I was watching a school-setting, cutesy BL in parts, which doesn’t fit this type of show. The pacing is disappointing and doesn’t align with the dark tone they originally indicated.

Visuals: The camera work and visual quality were great, maybe that’s where the budget went.

On the bright side, Ohm’s acting was outstanding, which I expected. He is incredibly talented and carried every scene he was in. There were moments when I gasped because his performance was so natural and high-calibre.

People like to be negative, there is nothing low about this production, it's very good, and the acting is good.…
I made a lot of notes when watching the first episode.

I really love Ohm as an actor, he's incredibly talented. His acting felt so natural, and he carried every scene he was in. That said, some technical and production choices distracted from what could've been a stronger overall experience. Does noticing these things make me a hater? Absolutely not.

The audio quality felt inconsistent; some sounds were way too compressed, with key effects like footsteps missing, while others, like swallowing, were oddly loud. It took me out of the moment a few times. The sound effects were also not appropriate for the genre they've chosen.

Lengso’s acting felt forced, especially during the 'drunk' scene and the crying/yelling parts. It’s surprising no one on set helped him refine those moments. I feel like they prioritised the Ohmleng pairing over casting someone more capable of pulling off this role.

Q’s character felt like he was pasted into the story last minute, and he doesn’t seem to fit the world they’ve created. The impression I got; I wondered if the role was originally written for someone else.

Then there’s the plot hole with Min and James. It didn’t make sense for James to suggest illegal activity as a job with such little buildup or context between the characters. It just didn’t feel believable.

I also found it odd that they used Ohm’s car in filming, why not budget for a proper prop car? And the club scene felt empty without enough background actors. Plus, the rubber gun they used in a close-up had visible tears in it, which seemed like a big oversight given how easy it would’ve been to acquire a better prop.

Overall, while the camera work and quality were great and Ohm’s acting was a highlight, the pacing felt rushed, and I feel like the romantic tropes have come in too soon for this genre.

I agree with what you said about enjoying the show; having fun while watching is important. But enjoying the show and the show being good are two different things. I’ve enjoyed plenty of shows that I know aren’t high quality in terms of acting, production, or writing. It’s possible to like something and still recognize where it falls short. And that is the case for a lot of viewers. Of course, there will be extremists on either side, but I never take them seriously and I don't value their opinions.

That's a naive way to look at it. Noticing flaws in something doesn’t make someone a hater—it’s just being honest. You can enjoy something and still recognize its weak points. In fact, being a fan often means being critical because you care. Saying a show you love has no flaws is just as blind as hating it without giving it a chance.

I mostly agree with you, I feel like I watched something totally different to everyone else. I think it's important to be truthful with reviews, especially when an actor you like is in it. Otherwise how can we get better content if we don't explain why something is bad?

HK and both JP versions were an excellent mix of comedy and romance, leaning more toward comedy than romance. Hilarious - all three. I hope they choose a good actor for Kurosawa/KK!

They ruined Mix and Earth...😢Why did they make them so childish and petty? It was like the grown up and responsible…
I don't see it this way at all. I think the Chief is scared because he's deeply in love with Tian and doesn't know how to express himself in those parts of Tian's life that he's never been exposed to (like his family). It's within character for Phu to not want to go to Bangkok, a super crowded and busy place, and it's within character for him to get nervous about his boyfriend's life before he knew him, and nervous about representing himself as a boyfriend, not a subordinate of Tian's father. These are things he's never had to do before.

It's also within character for Tian to lose his temper and do things without checking/thinking, he did it all the time in the show.

They weren't a couple for all those months Tian lived in the village. Tian lived away for two years, they haven't spent nearly as much time together as Pat and Pran have, so of course their relationship isn't as secure.

When two strangers from the city come into his village with no warning and tell him his boyfriend wrote about him and posted it on the internet and they want to write a play about his love and his life... frankly I'm surprised Phu wasn't more upset! Tian did this without telling him, he could've just told him, but he didn't because that's what Tian's like.

We already know Phu is an extremely stubborn man. People do get more stubborn as they age, and stubborness is often seen as childish because usually it is childish to be stubborn about something trivial. Also, even the strongest couple's have petty arguements. Especially couples who've been together for many years.

I see this argument as Phu distracting himself from the daunting idea of being Tian's boyfriend.

To me, the plot of the crossover is plausible/reasonable and I can't wait for more.

maybe that bit of the story takes place after main story but before the timeskip
Yep seems about right to me. I think it's nice they explored something that happened during the timeskip.
