I also don't deny your nostalgic point. Older Kdramas followed this plot to the T. The only problem is for you it is nostalgic, for a lot of us its too old (not because of concept but because of delivery of the concept.. it is boring and just so blah)

Ep7-9 we should get some healthy flirting and wooing from P to K.. with K reciprocating somewhat but not fully
Maybe they do sleep together.. but then K will get angry and ask P to exit his life

Kawi time travels and find P is missing from life but the time travel chances are also over..

So, onus is on K to find P in current timeline and win him back

I think that's the only way K's pursuit of P would make sense.. it has to be in real time, present time.. otherwise no point of having that constraint that time travel is limited chances

and overall arc of fixing your life in the moment when you realize is a better story to tell.. (time travel and miracles don't do it.. u realize and fix it in present)
