Just watched episode 3 and I didn’t think the story would go there yet. Wow.

I just got to episode 10 and now I’m so frustrated !!!

It’s a long set up but now it’s getting good!

This is a major spoiler so read with caution. The big mystery right now is who killed FL’s mom. And I don’t think it was third concubine so there is other villainy and palace harem politics afoot. So far I love how they portray FL as smart but not petty, but willing to stand up for herself. And she agrees to marry ML because she wants to find her mothers killer

I’m reassured that so far ML is distanced from all three concubines and the early interactions between him and FL are this awkward but honest slow burn that really reminds me of how the relationship unfolded in Minglan and I am loving it so far

There is a daughter from a competing family who the current wife is afraid will replace her after she dies so she sets her up in a way that she’s forced to become a concubine (or leave the capital and marry into a different family). So the third concubine is in place before our female lead becomes wife 2 and it’s a problem because the third concubine is favored by our male lead’s mom

You’ll understand after a few more episodes keep watching :)

Yes I’m getting Ming Lan feels so far but it’ll only be 45 ep instead of 74 which means the pacing should be better.

I know you never know until it’s over but so far I’m having fun with this show. Many unexpected twists. It’s working for me and actually I enjoy that neither lead is perfectly likable in the beginning.

There has to be. I’m on 36 and there is no way all the loose plot threads could possibly get resolved

Where do you find the previews for ep 31?

Dugu Yan initially says it to force her grandpa to look for Tang San when he disappears to the space his mother created but then says she is lying. Then she says she will kiss Tang San but plays it off as a joke when she sees Xiao Wu is upset. So I couldn’t tell if she was teasing or not but it is the first time Xiao Wu begins to realize she likes Tang San as more than a brother

I just finished ep 18 also and am really enjoying it also!

I’m just surprised it’s so low. I’m enjoying it more than other more highly rated historical dramas on air now

I’m enjoying the drama despite a few gaping plot holes. Why is the duboku rating so low? Saw it was only getting 5.8 over there ?
