Not very far into this, but the fact a "ladyboy" gets defended makes me love it already.
A ladyboy(the series word) in a Thai bl drama, with a bit of depth. character and involved in a major plot line. rather than just being a comedy side note. I hope they keep this up.
any thai can translate for us intfan the last written message?
It looks the same as what was written on the shirt I li (uncompleted I like you), with added . . . . after it. (not a Thai reader/writer/speaker the characters just look exactly the same)
Therefore saying I like you back in the same way I think. Why they'd leave something so important off the subtitles is crazy.
like my advice is don't ever read the comments- like they'll cripple you into not watching something after 2ts…
If I see a load of bad comments, Ill usually try to find some more positive ones to get a balanced view.
I don't have a problem with a character with internalised homophobia (and why would anyone hate the character so much if they grew out of it!). Its a character in a story.FFS!! Although I love a bit of Rainbow & Glitter I dont expect it all the time, especially after watching the Effect.
I would however totally agree with @PoetryInMotion comment below about how the last few episodes are bad, how quickly some things are resolved, negate/ignore previous things that happen, believeability. It didnt totally ruin something that I'd enjoyed watching up till that point, but it was a bit disappointing end.
Ive only watched a few episodes, and I totally get the comments about the homophobic top (although hate that whole top/bottom thing in BL). However actually talking about a character being gay seems quite good. Love the Mum. Bad reviews make me think I might change my mind after Ive watched some more, but willing to give it a try.
Not the best series in terms of plot or acting, but showing sex as playful and fun is something unexpected from a catholic country, or a BL drama. There's something up and coming about Philippine BL dramas that isn't quite there yet, but I'm looking forwards to when it does get there.
This is like the 3rd thing Ive resisted watching because of premises like ghosts, mind reading, reincarnation etc sound a but silly and not my sort of thing, then ended up watching and thinking OMG its really good. Episode 7 when Kurosawa talks about why he loves Adachi😍
Kalel is good, Elijah is a really committed actor, he's done some pretty good stuff. Edward is quite good too,…
Edward is a film with E Canlas in, only film I can think of where BF saves his GF from cannibalism (if I remember correctly) , but not bad and interesting look at healthcare in Philippines.
Only watched a few episodes, and totally not the same series, but this kind of has an energy that seems similar to UK Queer as Folk. Not fluffy, bit direct, bit human, bit real, bit messy.
I just now finished watching a film called "Kalel, 15" on Netflix. And who should show up as the lead actor? Elijah…
Kalel is good, Elijah is a really committed actor, he's done some pretty good stuff. Edward is quite good too, but a bit of a downer. Don't want to lose him from GB, or put down BL, but he's capable of a lot more.
