I really don't know why Na Ji Na and Lee Hyun Gyu are so hung up on each other. Their relationship was like what?…
Right, their plot just feels like I'm watching a teenage show, it's so childish. 9 years is more than enough time to get over your high school sweetheart, especially when the relationship didn't even last that long. I'm curious as to what they find so appealing in one other, and the same goes for Cha joo ik. What is it about this girl that makes her so special? there must be something worth clinging onto after all these years and so far I haven't seen it. If the writer spent more time with their characters and gave us a more in-depth story of them and how deeply they "loved" each other, then I might understand. The love triangle is pointless, and I'm not sure why they put them on the poster with the main characters because there is no link between their stories and the main story other than the fact that they know each other.
The level of ignorance in this comment section is appalling. Things like this rarely bother me, and as someone who does not get “political”, this was a slap in the face. I'll point out the issues to the commenters who don't seem to understand what the problem is. Because of his physical appearance and the language used, Alex's character is portrayed as a thug. The most prominent and distinctive feature being the dreadlocks. As a result, that scene plainly painted black people as thugs.

Given the history of dreadlocks, it's difficult for one tribe to claim as their own, but it's also worth noting that it's traditionally a black hairstyle, which adds another layer of complexity to the situation. Appreciation is expressing admiration for something while also respecting the culture; yet, depending on the presentation of Alex's character, it was undoubtedly cultural appropriation and an insult. There are numerous videos on YouTube depicting how Koreans view black people, and none of them are pleasant, so this was not surprising to me.

I don't condemn those who don't see anything wrong with this and laugh at it because as they say ignorance is bliss, if you don't know about it then you won't have to worry about it, but I do criticize those who refuse to educate themselves and publicly speak on things they know nothing about. This was a complete insult, and you don't have to be black to feel it, if you don't recognize the problem then you are a part of it. I've also seen some comments claiming that it's not actor Park Eun Seok's fault, which I believe is total nonsense. Every single person involved in this drama should be held accountable. Instead of playing along, if you know something is wrong and inappropriate, you should speak up and make a stand. However, they did not think it was wrong which demonstrates ignorance at its highest and lack of knowlege. Penthouse will always be special and remain one of my favorite dramas but I would never forget this one act.

I just hate Cha Joo Ik's guts. He's a conniving j*rk who has messed up Lee Hyun Gyu's life since he was 18. Even…
I was siding with cha joo Ik but after he explained himself to Na ji na I realized his not any different from Hyun Gyu. It not his place to decide if Na ji na would be happy with Hyun Gyu, I hate the fact that he doesn't see what he did wrong. Throw the whole two men away.

The secondary characters are still stuck in their past like it happened yesterday, we are talking 9 years jeez!!! the love triangle is so tiring. I am not on anyones side but after ep 11 teaser if Na ji na goes back to Lee Hyun Gyu then she's the dumbest person ever.

Who's first thought is to kiss a girl who's sitting in the rain crying about her boyfriend and more importantly, she's the girl your roommate likes.  He clearly violated her. I'd like for them to be together but what he did was not it.

So far so good but I get tired of the same repetitive conversations between the leads. It's a shame that the other main characters get so little screen time, their stories seem to intrigue me more.
I feel for Shim Su Ryeon she is really not catching a break. I really didn't feel anything when Logan died and I hope he remains dead because it is impossible for anyone to survive a bomb that goes off right next to them unless penthouse becomes a fantasy drama. I am probably the only one that thinks this but from the very first season Logan’s love for Min seol ah has always felt artificial to me, he only showed up when she was dead. I understand Min seol ah didn't want anything from him because it would also be coming from his dad but still it felt like he didn't put in any effort at all.

As influential as he was it was hard to believe Min seol ah had someone like that she considered her brother and he let her live such a tough life. For an intense show like penthouse sacrifices have to be made and I mean real deaths. It made sense to have killed off Logan because Min seol ah's death was avenged and his character wasn't of much use anymore. I am really not disappointed because I believe the writer has the right amount of drama and suspense to keep viewers hooked regardless of which character dies.

gyu jin and sang ah are a waste of screen time. don't find them funny at all
The entire family including the son are just bunch of irrelevant characters, they literally added nothing significant to the show other than annoyance.

I really thought Jenny's dad is out for some revenge on JDT. Turns out they're partners in crime. We really don't…
Also surprised by Jenny's dad, his such a mystery. I am excited about the new character and I hope Logan Lee is really dead, although it is tragic it was necessary for the drama. And after Min seol ah's death was avenged he really doesn't have much use in the drama. If by chance he survives then this drama will become a fantasy because no one can survive a bomb that goes off right beside them.

My heart sinks for secretary Cho. He is beaten in every ecene he appears. Poor "sole". I have no idea why he took…
I also feel for him and with a boss like JDT you don't just up and leave, especially because the secretary knows JDT's secrets. His is either with or against JDT and he is definitely not powerful enough to go against him.
I am honesty baffled that most people don't see a problem with Logan and Shim su ryeon's relationship. Some say Logan was just Min Seol ah's adoptive brother which the adoption was also canceled. Blood related or not Logan considers Min Seol ah to be his sister, and Min Seol ah considered him her brother and him having an intimate relationship with his sister's birth mother is morally wrong. Let's not sugarcoat stuff here. I want the two of them to be genuinely happy but not as far as having a romantic relationship. I guess in penthouse anything is really possible.

The flashbacks were fantastic. Sigma had such a tragic past, I felt so sorry for him and the kid who played him was so convincing that I got chills. Although his actions are not justifiable you could sympathize with me, I love dramas that pose these types of villians.
