this is SO good. i want to gush about the amazing chemistry and crazy storyline!! "he falls first" is one of my favourite tropes and 4 episodes in, i'm absolutely in love with how quickly it happens. i was supposed to watch the perfect crown (currently on hold) but this is taking way too much of my attention since i make fanvideos so oops hello new obsession!
i lowkey do wish we had a less predictable villain or at least had the guy be good in the present day, but the fact he's always two steps ahead?? he's playing a game when the players haven't even joined properly, which is very stressful and entertaining 😂

i had no expectations going into this except knowing the romance wouldn't be the focus. that said, i actually enjoyed this! a lot of people wanted a high stakes, high pressure drama, but i was okay with the slow pace. it's a comfortable drama and easy to watch. some characters sucked and made me want to rage, but the chemistry between the two leads more than made up for it. 8.5/10

i literally cannot anymore 😭 why are the brother and father so stupid helpppp. on episode 16 and the way the whole family ended up going there together just makes me want to scream. love the couple but i can't stand the writing. dropping this (for now anyway)

that's the bottom line: i was looking for a light drama and the first episodes misled me. thats why i dropped it. i wanted something fun to watch and the FL was too realistically modern for me to enjoy it. because we got the ML story as well, and we see how wronged he is, i empthaised more with him then the FL who kept trying to kill him. i get it, he did it first, but like i said, i wanted a different kind of drama so while i get where you're coming from, it was an easy solution to just drop it and move on from this.

you are completely overlooking what i said about this drama. i said she was too realistic for me and so i couldn't enjoy it. i would do everything she did, but that's not what i want to watch. me making a comment was expressing my disappointment that it wasn't a light and fun drama i was expecting, especially with how funny the first episodes were. i don't want an analogy of the characters when i already gave the reason why i dropped the drama. i didn’t like FL being so against the ML bc yeah, surprisingly that's not what i wanted from a romance. i didn't want to waste my time on something i wasn't looking for.

yeah ML was awful to her first, but i wasn't expecting her to retailiate the way she did, especially when she didn’t have the full story. i thought it would be a fun watch, something to unwind with after a long day, and instead we have FL going against all the norms that you expect in a drama. it works for you and many others, but it didn’t for me, because again, in case you forgot, i was not expecting or wanting a realtic character. she was annoying to me because that's what the writers showed us. they made sure we knew she was in the wrong, which made me sympathise more with the ML than her. that's what really didn’t work for me, because the romance felt unbalanced and again, did not want such a modern realistic take.

yes, making a public comment means getting comment like yours. but you're not even trying to respect my opinion like i do yours. it's about what you think and like, why does it bother you so much? i didn't rate this drama, it's still getting the hype it needs, so what's your problem with me and a few others for not vibing with this drama?? it happens. you going out of your way to respond to every negative comment, making a statement how you're tired of our opinions, is just disrespectful. factually correct? i wrote what i saw, and that was the romance which let me down. what i said was not wrong, its my perspective you're having a problem with.

and that's MY problem with you. because in every negative comment before, there you are trying to force your opinion instead of understanding that yeah, i went into it with wrong expectations and this drama isn't for me. it's not a bad thing i wanted a sweet romance and decided the FL was too much for me.

its great you liked how modern and how "like us" the FL was, but i didn’t care for it. so i dropped it. maybe she gets better later, maybe i would have ended up liking how refreshing her character is, but i don't have that time or energy rn, and i really didn’t like how the story unfolded, bc again, we know the ML so everything the FL did was just sad and stressful.

i agree completely. i finished it and rated this 8.5 but it would have so much higher if only the last two episodes weren’t added in.

also can you not?? i’ve see you responding to negative comments about the drama and it’s our opinion okay?? we didn’t like it, made a comment and moved on. not everyone has to like this drama because you do. it’s great you enjoyed it, but telling us we’re wrong isn’t doing anyone any favours, just creating unnecessary drama

FL knows she's living in a script, so she didn't really take his killing too seriously (the comedic effect). so afterwards?? when he wasn’t so bad, she was still so against him. i’ve watched dramas that are similar to this one but modern FL has never been so harsh 😬 i was just expecting a fun romance. like FL didn’t do anything i wouldn’t do, but because of that, this wasn’t what i wanted to watch, she was too realistic, and this drama wasn’t what i was looking for

dropping after only 13 episodes 🫠
the drama was so promising at the start, but i did not like how against the FL is to ML still. she's so determined to hate him and judges him harshly every single time—and this is based on a script she didn't even read completely. apparently it stays like that for a few more episodes and i don't really want to watch anymore 🙈 so sad, because this drama made me laugh the most and i did have good time with the earlier episodes.

if someone could spoil the ending, that would be great. like, what happens when FL goes back to her own world??

this should have ended with 34 episodes, and everything after was just filler. the final conflict also sucked, but i did appreciate how HY and XJ stood with each other, and really hit home how much they loved and support one another. general yan at the end was just unnecessary.

i know some people weren’t okay with how the FL portrayed her character, and honestly, same, but i’m here for the romance more than anything else—slow burn, with a hint of enemies to lovers, and done so well.

the SML i felt sorry for until he changed tactics and became obsessed with FL. disappointed with his character, and i still don’t entirely understand him either.

overall, this was a good choice for getting back into cdramas after months away, and i’m rating it 8.5/10.

no way! i didn’t notice but this was a 10/10 for me while flourished peony was an 8 🙈 so definitely watch blossom soon!

on episode 20 and i feel exhausted knowing there’s still 20 more to go 😭 the drama is good, i love the ML so much but idk i’m just struggling. i expected more tension but 20 episodes later everything is so tame?

So far it’s Blossoms in Adversity, the healthiest communicators i’ve seen in dramas this year. non-historical is The First Frost though! but i think Love Like the Galaxy and Love Game in Eastern Fantasy are my absolute favourites period.
Blossom i’ve put on hold for a while so i really need to rewatch and finish it! WRTW had a strong start but i can’t remember why i never finished it, so might need to go back... I have a problem with leaving dramas and never picking them back up 🙈
i’ll have to check out Blood of Youth, i need some lighthearted dramas right now, and i would recommend Perfect Match if you haven’t watched it yet! a bit of a silly drama but i enjoyed the comedy

i might! coming of age dramas are a hit and a miss for me sometimes but i’ll definitely add it to my watch list. it looks interesting enough, and the reviews are good.. 😊 thanks for recommending! will you be watching it any time soon? i’m currently in my historical kick right now
