I kinda wish they would retire the 16 episode format. I feel like this would be a cute 10. 12 max.
So right! I Keep wondering how they are going to keep up with the good work. They will need to bring some new plots and It might kill the mood. Well, let's just trust them for the time being....
same director, same vibes. Have you not noticed the red umbrella?
I love One Spring Night. As for Midnight, episodes 11 and 12 have completely won me over, but for very different reasons, not for the romance. So, I'm not sure you can really compare.
I'm on the 3rd episode and thinking of dropping this drama because it's so damn boring. Please let me know if…
IT's not primarily romance focused. Relationships, what matters when learning, how you benefit from changing your viewpoint and looking at things from a different angle, those are all the topics dealt with brilliantly by this show...

This show is a masterpiece! It takes a different path and has a purpose and essence. The writers have done a great job! It avoids the typical formula of kdramas and focuses on personal relationships and values. For kdrama fans who also love literature, it's a real treat. I see it as a special gift to all the curious minds out there. I just realized I've never read a book by a Korean writer, so that's the first thing I'm going to do! Thank you so much for the enlightenment of episodes 11 and 12!
the subject of this series is Korean and just Korean to the core, other people can't understand the characters…
You are right to point out the show might not be for everyone for its specific topic. Yet, for me, this Korean "uniqueness" is definitately part of the appeal. I guess a lot of us, international audience, appreciate this cultural "journey" in a kdrama. Besides, the topic is probably more relatable than vou think for most countries., even if the education issues in SK really seem to be at another level! All in all, the series is very engaging I think!
I know from the synopsis that Ji Hwan and Eun Ha were childhood playmates, but what is the connection between…
I don't think they have any connection in "real life". From what I understood, she fantasizes about his name (for whatever reason??) and he knows her because of her videos... Maybe someone gets more insight on this....
I think the plot hole of this drama is if Gwi Joo was the one who save Da Hae from the fire, how did she survive…
You're right. The whole "Her past is his future" isn't really convincing. I guess it's one if these shows where you have to put rationality on hold, and just enjoy the ride.
Some awkward moments (the seer mother is making no sense to me), but surprisingly good. The drama pulls off quite a realistic portrayal of a depressive person I think. And even the goofy character of the sister turns out to be quite engaging.
Well! I started The Midnight Romance in Hagwon only two eps and the director caught my attention; Ahn Pan Seok. He's…
Same here. I'm a big fan of this director's cinematography. For example, the work on light and colours as the two leads were getting out of the cafe under the red umbrella. A recurrent feature in its dramas! Thank you for pointing it out!
I started out by really liking it. Great acting, great OST, interesting characters, singular theme, minimum tropes...…
The way the drama tackles serious issues is certainly a great part of its charm and must have contributed to raising the dialogues quality. But episode 18 (and 19 a bit) was kind of... hard to swallow. Too much lingering... It gets better again in episode 20 and I hope the 21st episode brings something new. I feel that the story is a bit worn out at this point...
Interesting point of view! The lack of conflict stymied quite a few cdramas from living up to my expectations.…
Quite right, you don't need murder mysteries or inheritance struggles... Whether chinese, korean or anything, I think depicting an emotional journey of two people experiencing love as a story's main plot is extremely challenging. You need excellent and subtile writing, and rarely have I come across dramas that pulled off successful genuine 100%romantic dramas . You do need to overcome dilemmas and struggles, that's to say emotional struggles, and personal issues, for it not to become boring. If you have any recommendations, I would be grateful. So far the Cdrama I enjoyed most was Love Like the galaxy, yet it was not purely romantic. It has a complex historical and political plot. I must say that Will love in Spring is ticking all the right cases for me. Therefore I'm thrilled to have discovered it! I hope they can pull it off until the end! If so, it will be one of my favorite 5 dramas ever!
For me, Will love in Spring stands out in its portrayal of modern life. The chemistry between the lead actors…
Interesting point of view! The lack of conflict stymied quite a few cdramas from living up to my expectations. When there were antagonists at all, they were dealt with too soon and too easily. I felt this way with Amidst a snowstorm , which lost any interest for me in the second half despite a promising start. However, I hope it won't be the case with Will love in Spring ( still in episode 16, and so far, so good). Though it does not have much conflict either, the characters' development and good writing seem to fuel my interest just fine (I think the interesting background stories are a big part of it). I hope it carries on like that…provided the writer does not resolve the relationship dilemmas too soon, albeit finding way not to dwell on plotwise… A challenging task!
