Episode 8 was the first episode of the series to sorta let-me-down. It felt slow and fill-ery. I don't like how…
I totally get you, this had been a nice surprise so far ( I was a bit taken aback at first by the totally unrealistic premice), but I wonder how it's going to keep up with the good work. It seems that most of the plot is already out there.
This show really works! IT's very well written with interesting plots and characters who are clearly off the wall. They managed to have me in stitches quite a few times in the 2 episodes I watched! Han Ji Min and LeeMIn Ki just nail it. I loved them respectively in One night spring and My liberation notes, I'm happy they have seized the opportunity of showing their acting range in such a good comedy.
I think that some ppl doesn't undestand why arab are this mad. this inst the first time that in a kdrama arab…
As far as I know, white people were not exactly at their best in Squid Game (disgusting guys watching the games...) Anyway, SOME kdramas do suffer from a tendency to fall into cheap stereotypes (african people could complain a lot too ...)
So much fuss to defend a billionaire!!! come on! As if a royal could ever represent millions of people struggling and hustling every day to carry on with their lives! Forget a bit religion, have you never heard of social classes?

I'm seeing some very harsh comments that seem totally unfair. The show has got very good pacing and some deepness. At least they try and tackle some issues that most kdramas and cdramas just shy away from. I'm loving the main leads' interaction, it feels genuine and convincing. As for A Ni and Zhao Xun, you can figure out that An Ni feels she has never been given the chance to be considered as a potential partner. That's why she clings to him. Why is it so bad for a girl to pursue a guy? There are plenty of stories the other way around. Finally, the mother is sure very annoying at first, but she is like a pampered little child. You can watch the result of a generation that refused to empower women. A little more understanding here!
Enlightening!!! Thanks for this beautiful review! This aspect has struck me in most asian cinema and even dramas I have watched. Back in the day, I had a real epiphany with the movie In the mood for love. Also, I have a soft spot for winter season colors, some scenes of Mr. Sunshine ( no joke intended!) for example were just stunning... I'll make sure to enjoy your recommandations !
Very promising first 2 episodes, I'm loving the FL spirit. So straight forward and self-confident! As long as the story telling keeps the good work of blending in with the timeline paradoxes smoothly, I have no problem with age gaps here. It's not that hard to understand how a 9 years old may feel driven to a special someone, sincerely and with feelings and actions according to her age. Nothing awkward about it, the adults are the ones who might make it awkward. In that case, the high schooler's reaction is completely natural and appropriate. As for the dialogues, the fact that she doesn't speak as she is expected to makes all the fun. This IS the whole point of being aware of your past lives...
You're pointed out very well all the appeals of this show. A must watch. You're so right about the team dinner. I had not had such a good laugh with a kdrama for a while, so hilarious!
I really split my sides at the end of episode 3; the scene at the restaurant was just hilarious! I hadn't had that much fun with a kdrama since Jealousy Incarnate... The first 2 episodes got a bit of my nerves, seeing all the bullying the FL received from her relatives, but it grew on me in the 3rd episode. Good acting and solid storytelling!
Interesting drama overall (I've watched up until ep. 10). Sure enough, the plot is a bit frustrating and foreseeable, yet all the main characters' acting is on point and there is some entertaining character development, especially on the baddie's side. As for the ML, it's invigorating to watch his fighting spirit!
Very promising so far! I've even watched half of the ep. 8 without subtitles... enjoying Leo Wu's acting. His scenes were so sweet in this episode! Actually, some people complain about the slow path, but I'm loving that the characters take a step back and take their time to try out new things and turn their lives around. Some comments below quoted a sentence in one of the early episodes: "Quitting takes courage too"... A very good point! I'll rewatch ep. 8 with subtitles though! I'm enjoying the dialogues a lot. Especially when the stepfather is around. Such an interesting character! I hope the writers have some good character development in store for him!
I don't get it! What's so special about Tan Song Yun that all the shows she is in never seem to disappoint me? I have just started Road Home and, as thrilled as I was to watch TanSong Yun again, I did not want to raise my expectations too much as it's already my 4rth show with her within a year. Another slow burn love story, another hate to love journey... But guess what? 2 episodes and I already love it... She must have an eye for good stories... or she just brings the magic by herself...
