It's really worth it. If you love shows with action and a complex plot, this is for you!

Thanks for the heads up. I've never watched that kind of dramas before, I mean the ones with gods and supernatural beings. I might try on account of Cheng Xing Xu's acting.

Have you seen the Long Ballad? I would recommend it. The acting and the characters are not quite as good as in Fall in love, but the story is even more interesting and worth the hours.
To get back to Cheng Xing Xu and Zhang Jing Yi, I agree it's the best acting couple I've ever seen in a Chinese drama (though I have not finished a lot of them I must say). Tan's character is very versatile, pulling off different aspects and emotions. I've especially enjoyed his bragging about his achievements and how he was always one step ahead of the others. If you know this character, he reminded me a lot of Arsene Lupin.

It annoys me to see how low the rating for this show is. This show is really great, watch it, people!
It's true you can't really compare to Red Sleeve or the King's affection but what I can
say: I enjoy Moonshine ten times more! Here you get more action, a plot you cannot predict in advance, very funny and genuine characters, and even sismance much more interesting and plotwise relevant than in Red Sleeve. Female characters are really well developed. And the plot does not focus only on the throne's issues, it deals with ordinary people too with their ordinary problems. Finally, the characters take control of their lives instead of just accepting the fate of their charge or status. Far more satisfying!

im turn between slapping dan dan and the entire cast. How can a lady be bold enough to love a man way older and…
This is one of the most silly shows I've watched. I fast forward loads of scenes but strangely I keep getting back to it. I'm trying to find out what's so appealing in this story, I really don't get it.
I guess It has all the tropes of your classical kdrama: memory loss, horrible mother in law, annoying perfect naive FL, rich ML, manipulative false friend, ..and It works somehow....

Well those were some swift consequences. The FL and her family definitely invited this situation: they waltzed…
Exactly! It's really surprising how well things are turning out with this series.
at first I found it very silly and even quite disturbing for the way these women only see marriage as the ultimate goal in one's life.
But it seems now that there's much more to it. It tells a lot about double standards and classist hypocrisy. I'm in episode 5 and I love how the story is developping at the moment. And I like the fact that the guy is not necessarily attractive at first sight. In the beginning she's just driven by some kind of animal instinct, which is in fact quite scornful in a way for the poor guy, merely a toy. I love the rugby analogy.

I completely disagree about your view on Sugamone. Not all relationship needs to be an emotional roller coaster.…
Fair enough.. but it's not necessarily what I prefer watching. Anyway, each time Ryo appears in an episode I get my share of drama. I love this character!

Thank you for your interesting answer. I completely share your views on the depth and singularity of most of the side characters (even the one you never even see, which is quite an achievement for the writer!). And I guess I might have complained if Mone's storyline had to reduce much its screen time in benefit of the secondary storylines.
But it feels a bit like smelling a rich flavoured dish just before they took it off your plate, it's frustrating. I wish there was a book of this story...
By the way, are you really the person doing the translation for the series on the site I'm watching it? If that's the case, thank you so much! You open the doors to a new world to people like me who haven't got the slightest knowledge of Japanese.

Title Okaeri Mone Spoiler
I'm feeling a bit disappointed by the last episodes (85-95). Secondary characters are just pushed aside. What happened to Mone's sister goals, how her priest wanna be friend finally came to make the big step, what about Ryo and his father, and the phobic guy in the guesthouse? All these storylines have just been abandoned...
I'm still following the series though, for the sake of Mone's development. I like how the slow realization of what should be her path in life is depicted, very subtile and realistic.
As for sugamone, I'm still struggling with it. I can see why one could find the relationship healthy as they have so much respect for each other. Yet they seem to always live for the future or the five minutes they share in their busy lives where they basically talk about work. What about sharing emotions, thrills, adventure? even boring rainy afternoons should have their share of discovering common interests.
What are your thoughts on all this?

I love how this show creates awareness about nature and weather. It had never occurred to me that weather forecasting could be so deep and endearing....

I get you! but still... I really would like it to be Ryo. The relationship with Suganami is cute but for me it lacks passion and excitement. At this point I'm NOT willing to take a bet anymore though.

5. episodes.
The first half is very quiet, the show takes time to introduce the characters and the different storylines. But then it gains intensity and the characters develop quite a lot. I'm really enjoying it

I've watched until episode 70. From the start, the story obviously leans towards a relationship with the doctor,…
I meant the story line between Mone and the doctor is too obvious. Everyone in the series want them together. Sorry for the misunderstanding!

Loved how everyone cheered for Mone during her debut as a relay weather caster! On the other side, Michi's envy…
You are right, very good new episodes!
I can't really get Mishi's character so far. Does she really want to stay on the island or does she feel it's her duty because "someone has to stay behind"? Does she even like Ryo that much? Or is it rather that the relates to his "sacrifice"?
I guess her story line is going to do a complete U-turn before the end of the show, nice character development here!
One of my favorite characters is Asaoka Satoru (the main weather caster), he brings the best in everyone. I've just found out that he is the main actor in the movie Drive my car. I have heard only great things about it, they say it's a masterpiece.
