Till now my fav character is Phee. (Sorry white but I still don't know your past)He is the only sane one who genuinely…
Grooming defintion: When someone builds a relationship, trust and emotional connection with a child or young person so they can manipulate, exploit and abuse them.
Sexual coercion defintion: using pressure or influence to get someone to agree to sex.
Keng has established an emotional connection and trust with Non over the weeks he's gone to the school. He has allowed himself to be someone that Non can confide in, and encouraged it. We see Keng try to help Non open up multiple times. He constantly praises him, something that majority of people in Non's life doesn't do. When Non finally tells him he has a problem, he does so because Keng asks and Non trusts to tell an adult about the problems he's facing.
Keng then exploits this trust, and makes a move on Non. So far, Keng had only verbally said he would provide the money. It puts pressure on Non, who at first pulls away, to follow what Keng wants. If Non would have fully stopped, Keng most likely wouldn't have offered to help him. Non knows this, and Keng knows that Non knows this. This way he puts pressure (aka sexually coercion) on Non to reicprocarate what he does.
There is no way to look"groomed", even if Non would have consented and fully been into it, he would still have been groomed. An adult and figure of more power built an relationship with a child to exploit them. You can't look groomed. It doesn't look a certain way.
If you wanna go in on the way of Non "not looking coerced". I'd argue against that too. We can see Non pull away from kisses multiple times, and even crying after their first time. Also when Keng makes his move, Non had just been crying and shaking. That does not make a case for being very consensual to me.
Till now my fav character is Phee. (Sorry white but I still don't know your past)He is the only sane one who genuinely…
Non did not cheat and didn't have sex with his teacher. He was groomed and coerced into being raped. He was taken advantage off and to boil that down to "cheating, and having sex for money" is not correct.
Non is being targeted by gangsters for money and doesn't have a support net. He has no way of getting the money and Phee has already been in trouble for getting him out of jail. He has no strong family bonds or any trusted adults to speak to, except the teacher. And the teacher took advantage of the situation because he knew that Non wouldn't be able to say no because of their power dynamic (Both money and his status as a teacher).
Non doesn't want to be a burden to others, as he himself said, and in this he feels like he doesn't have a choice.
Non continues to lie to Phee because 1. He knows it will be perceived as cheating even though hes backed into a corner without a way to say no to sex without consequences and 2. He doesn't want to be a burden. Then the lies continue to spiral and he has no control any longer. When he tries to pull away, Keng is there to hold him back.
Non doesn't trust Phee to help him (whether it is so he isn't a burden, because he doesn't want Phee in trouble anymore or because hes embarrassed etc).
"He didn't seem to resist much either". Not all violence is harsh or the victim saying no etc. Non has no other options in his head. And Keng knows it, that's why he took him into his office and starts probing him for an answer about what bothers him. Non is vulnerable and crying about what his problems is, Keng is the first person to offer him a solution and say he will fix it. But he also takes advantage of Non when he starts touching him, and clearly shows that the solution will come with a price.
Non doesn't have any other solution and Tee has told him he needs the money fast. He's scared and that leads him to not fight it too much. But we still see him pull away multiple times, clearly showing he doesn't actually want it. Then after the initial meeting, he cries as he hugs Phee which shows he knows it isnt good but he doesn't know what he can do otherwise.
If he resists, he will be at the consequences of not only 1. Keng demanding money back, but also 2. Keng being able to ostracise Non further by flunking his grades and similar things as a teacher.
To say he seems to not resist too much is just wrong or that it is sex is wrong.
Should he have told Phee? Yes. But also understand that this is a very real reaction that a lot of people have when they are taken advantaged of in a power dynamic, and when they feel stuck. To boil it down to cheating or not loving Phee isn't the way to go
What's wrong with having a blind man see again? Are all the blind men who want to see again in the wrong?
No it isn't. But it's strange when during the entire show we get to see Day become used to and learning to accept that he's blind. Also him learning that although he is living with a disability, there's nothing wrong with it
Only to then in the last part of the show go "aaaaand now hes able to see again!" it should have happened a bit earlier in the show then, and not just as a "wow he can see so now they truly live happily ever after again"
It was shaping up to be the BL of the year for me, but the ending ruined it. Making Day get his sight back just felt like the wrong step. Why wouldn't it be okay for him to not have his sight? Would it be such a bad thing to have a couple be happy, where one of them is disabled? Like it felt like a punch in the face to be like "look!! everything ends perfectly now that he can see again! There's your happy ever after".
He waited, he is a grown man (he has needs) is he supposed to not have sex?! Also Z said he was ready & then changed…
1. Teena knew from the beginning that Zouey is not ready for sex and says he accepts it. If Teena felt like sex was a deal breaker, he wouldn't continue to pursue Zouey. At first he only went after him for sex, but in the second ep he says he has feelings for him. By this point, Zouey continues to dismiss anything more explicit sexually. If Teena really was that needy for sex, he would have broken it off. Instead, he says he will wait no matter how long it takes for Zouey to feel ready.
Also how does looks have anything to do with this?
2. Teena is the more experienced one between them and has previously dabbled in BDSM, something Zouey obviously hasn’t.
Teena tells him what the safe word is, without making sure Zouey repeats it back to him or even told him what a safe word implies. He hasn’t even told Zouey to pick one he feels he’d be able to remember. They haven’t had any discussions of what would happen during sex or kinks either.
The fact that Zouey is supposed to remember a random safe word, which they had never discussed, while he’s shown being uncomfortable and scared, is unreasonable.
3. Zouey told him to stop, and Teena continued. Zouey told him AGAIN to stop and said he wasm't ready, and Teena continued, This isn't "oh Teena didn't hear him", because Teena literally replies back to him revoking his consent and tries to argue for them to continue.
It's not expecting Teena to turn 180, it's expecting him to be a decent human being.
He waited, he is a grown man (he has needs) is he supposed to not have sex?! Also Z said he was ready & then changed…
Having needs does not equal to being entitled to sex. Also there are bunch of couples were they don't have sex, ever. Teena even himself said that he could wait, or that they don't need to do it ever.
Saying someone has needs because they are a grown man and that he has waited (meaning he was entitled too sex since he did so), is just nonsense stuff that rape culture puts into your head. If he feels the need, he can sort it out himself. He is more experienced and should have stopped when Zouey told him to. Zouey shouldnt have to physically remove himself out of the bed for Teena to stop or slow down.
Zouey changed his mind. But Teena didn't listen and tried to coerce him into continuing by saying stuff like "it'll feel good" and "just let me put the tip in", while Zouey kept saying no. He's a creep
How is Zouey a tease? You're allowed to withdraw your consent if you don't feel comfortable. Zouey obviously didn't…
"Teena respected Zouey's wishes"
You mean after Zouey told him stop and Teena replied "Just a little more"? or when Zouey tells him to stop again and Teena replies "Just let me put the tip in. If we're gonna be a couple we'll have to do this someday"?
It's only when Zouey physically moves out the bed that Teena stops. That is not respecting him. That is him trying to coerce and guilt trip Zouey into letting him continue. That is being a creep. As soon as consent is withdrawn, aka when Zouey started telling him stop, Teena should have stepped back and checked what was wrong. instead, he focused on his own pleasure and tries to beg Zouey to continue on by saying "It'll feel better". It is very creepy
Also there is nothing here that is "leading him on". Zouey intended to have sex, but realised that he did not feel ready. He had no intention of doing this just to string Teena along, but realised that he wasn't feeling comfortable enough. Anyone is allowed to withdraw their consent when they want to.
Do better, and understand how rape culture is making you view victims like this. Please reflect on how you are victim blaming and excusing assault by saying thing like a character is "leading someone on" and being a "tease".
Zouey is the biggest prick tease in the world and I don't like him AT ALL.I like the series, it's a refreshing…
How is Zouey a tease? You're allowed to withdraw your consent if you don't feel comfortable. Zouey obviously didn't feel ready and Teena tried to prease him into continuing. Honestly shameful that you're concluding all that to Zouey being a tease and not Teena being a creep.
Teena and Zouey were the only couple I was rooting for, and then Teena tried to pressure Zouey into sex.. Honestly disgusting. Especially after he spent all that time buttering Zouey up by saying they didn't need to have sex etc. He's such a disgusting character ugh
i actually love this! at certain points i cringed but all in all i had fun, and i like the characters. m interested to see how it'll develop over the next episodes :3
Its a 18+ show if u cant handle the 18+ then don't watch it. Its not for little kids
I’m fine with 18+ scene, and think they add to the story. I like when NC scenes are added because I think it’s good that we’ve gotten to that point in BLs were they don’t shun away from it
but there’s one thing to be a show with a sex focused story, and another one to be borderline fetishising for the viewers sake. when there’s no clear establishment of characters or plot until the end of the first episode, it’s weird. if this was the second or third Ep, sure that would work. but this is the episode which is supposed to establish what the story is - and then there’s next to no story. it’s strange when every scene change go from one sex scene to another, just for the sake of having a sex scene. it doesn’t make it feel genuine, and more like “hey we know people watch shows with NC scenes, so if we throw every type of NC scene at once this will be popular”
felt like there was too much unnecessary drama and plot holes, with too little resolution. The actors are so cute though hh

It's just a point for why I didn't enjoy the shows ending, since I feel like it turned into the usual GMMTV type of ending
Only to then in the last part of the show go "aaaaand now hes able to see again!" it should have happened a bit earlier in the show then, and not just as a "wow he can see so now they truly live happily ever after again"
