Compreendo. :)

Still haven't started to be frank. Needed to finish Legal High and some eps that wer piling up. I'll get on it tomorrow. Or possibly this afternoon. I did watch the first 10 minutes, the male character was a total a-hole, instant dislike, but I can tell it's a drama that will get me hooked.

Definitely! 100% with you. People less and less want movies that deal with reality. Tis the season for CGI.
But still, no Wonder Woman adaptation so far. :/

To tell you the truth I only watched Aging Family because of Yoon Yeo Jeong.I love everything she does.I see Aging Family as the "grown up" family movie. It could be another sentimental and cliched story about a family that sticks together when troubles arrives, but the whole dynamic between characters and the general unpleasantness of them all makes it's very interesting to watch. They are so obnoxious and hate each other so much that you want to see where they will end up.Although,of course, they will end up together and stronger,it's a family movie after all. You always have to fall on stereotypes. Also, it was funny to see Maundy Thursday's Hae Sung Song try to do a comedy. The movie was too dark sometimes to be called one. Poetry is directed by Lee Chang Dong and I always finds his movies hard to digest. Normally I have to prepare myself mentally for them and it can be tiresome.

Hi. Nice to meet you too. Thanks for accepting the FR. :)
My watchlist is all over the place. ahah I'm trying to watch some of Gong Li movies like Raise the Red Latern and Ju Duo while trying to find the guts to watch Poetry and some of Mizoguchis's films. I've been trying to increase my knowledge on Asian Cinema but there are so many films. So.Many.Films. ^^

I used to be more lenient with ratings, but the more things I watch, the more I expect out of them. I'm sure it happens with everyone. ^.^
I don't mind long post at all. It's a pleasure to read them. :)
Asian society needs to change first and for the better so we can finally see complex women roles in movies\dramas. It's a society with lots of prejudice directed at working wives. The mentality is to basically work until you get married and live to support the husband. It's the salaryMAN world. It's no wonder in Japan less and less people are turning away from relationships when the outcome is so unsurprising and unsatisfying.
Romcoms in the western world are becoming fewer compared with the 90's because productions companies are finally realizing the public is changing. In my view, the tone is more serious, demanding and inquisitive.I wish SK and Japan would follow in the same steps. Tell a love story without falling into stereotypes and expectations.
Thanks for the recommendation. I'll try it after Scent of Woman. :)

I do concede South Korea has its charms. It's clearly a country very proud on its history and customs, which is something I envy for my own country. And they make use of it successfully. It's very attractive. But it comes to a point, as you said, when it becomes tiresome. You can only stretch diversity in dramas to a certain point. It's rehash after rehash. The only thing that changes are the faces. New actors, same story. And there's not much diversity in characters either. Everyone is thin, everyone is young, everyone is pretty and everyone is straight. And, yes, endings are painfully predictable. But this is true for any kind of entertainment format, be it South Korean or Japanese. Sometimes I question myself why am I bother watching anything, maybe I'm hoping to be amazed one day. :\ Could you list some of those thought provoking dramas? I would like to try some of them. :) And sorry for the rant.
This movie stops being scary when you realize you are wasting your time watching a movie about a killer wig.

I haven't watched Temptation of Wolves, no. I intended to but by reading the plot I lost interest. I was talking about the movie. Is there a four eps drama? It sounds interesting. I prefer J-dramas since they usually don't drag on endlessly. They can tell a good developed story in 10\11 eps without unnecessary drama. Sometimes K-dramas are more about show than substance and usually lose me midway through it. I usually see K-dramas as that popular girl at high school with the brand names and lots of friends while J-dramas are the introverted weirdos in the back of the classroom. And I'm a introverted weirdo so we are more in sync. ^^ Only thing I don't like his how repetitive they become, specially in crime dramas and such. I'm gonna try Time Between Dog and Wolf when I get a chance (which is probably next year coz the watchlist is looong. :) I still have to watch the hits this year.)
