I think the writers went a little overboard with making Cha Sa Gye such a lovesick puppy. It was romantic a first but it seems like he lost that confidence (or arrogance) at the beginning, especially against Mun Do.
I also miss the feisty Seo Ri at beginning. Remember how she was able to fight off all the men when they tried to take over the restaurant? I need this Seo Ri back, not the one at the end of episode 12 in tears and then showing Cha Sa Gye rushing to "save" her.
Four episodes in and it has been good except as the much better reviewer wrote above they made it seem like false…
This is a weird take. Just because they showed the student made false accusation about SA doesn't mean there aren't cases where the opposite is true. The show isn't preaching the teacher is always the victim. The broader issue of the episode is not the SA but how the student is able to leverage the power of social media to ruin the teachers' life.
Episode 5 was peak. The mother is such a b*tch for harassing the teacher. Kim Mu Yeol giving the mother a taste of her own medicine was so hilarious though.
KMY: Ujin keep dozing off, what should I do Mother: Just wake him KMY: Sleeping is a right, is it ok if I violate it? Mother: I'll allow it KMY: How should I wake him Mother: Just shake him KMY: I could be accused of child abuse Mother: Then just call him KMY: If Ujin is startled by loud noises and get emotionally stressed, that can be abuse Mother: Then tell his neighbor to wake him KMY: What if it embarrass him Mother: Then just don't wake him and let him be KMY: But neglect is also a form of abuse
I am only half way through and this is so good. I love it when the bullies get a taste of their own medicine and I like that they not only show how horrible the kids are but the parents AND teachers as well.
Sure, some of the scene are unrealistic but it doesn't bother me (like the end of chapter 3 when KMY jumped out of the buliding to save the teacher). His super human power kind of reminds me of Go Youn Jung's character in Moving (which was also hard to watch and much more violent when she fought back the girl bullies I think in episode 5). Anyway, I know that corporal punishment does not work in the long term but within the confines of the drama I definitely feel the satisfaction of seeing the bullies get taken down in every episode.
Episode 5 is making my blood boil!! If you know any teachers, you'll know that parents can be worse than the kids!!
The mom is horrible. I would have block her number after the third message. I do like that they show the mom at the end how her behavior was affecting her own child.
On May 22, the romantic comedy starring Lim Ji Yeon and Heo Nam Jun soared to its highest viewership ratings yet by far. According to Nielsen Korea, “My Royal Nemesis” shot to an average nationwide rating of 9.5 percent, marking an impressive jump of 3.5 percentage points from its previous all-time high of 6.0 percent—and making it the most-watched program of any kind to air on Friday.
Seo Ri is such a badass. I love her bluntness. Lim Ji Yeong acting is great. I haven't seen Heo Nam Jun in anything else but I like him too, especially those little body language he has when he is with Seo Ri. Great chemistry. I am also intrigued by Mun Do's plan against Sa Gye and how Seo Ri will be involved as their relationship progress.
It's not your thing and that's ok, but many fluffy low stakes bls have a higher rating on mdl than Only Friends.…
Yes you are right. I don't watch a series based on the ratings. It was just a quick observation when I checked both MDL pages. I was just surprised since this season was more divisive but yeah it's just a number.
I am glad Yumi found her happy ending although it was indeed rushed (to be fair, it is also similar in the webtoon, Sun Rook isn't written as deeply as Woong or Babi). The cells are really the highlight of the show. I am always amazed at how creative they showcased each cell and the animations are top-notched! The ending with all the cells at Yumi and Sun Rook's wedding was so cute!!
The chemistry and the storyline between all the couples are so weak lol. Even Mix's great acting can't save the lame conflicts and characters.
None of the couples in this season hold a candle to Season 1: Ray/Sand Boston/Nick Top/Mew
All three couples were so intense and their conflicts actually drives the story and elevates the characters and the show. Compare to this season which is so boring and disappointing. I can't believe the rating for this season is 8.2 and Season 1 is 8.0. I wouldn't give this season higher than 2 or 3 (mainly for Mix's acting).

Han Yeri in episode 3 is in high school, she is 18 so she can be jail.
