Title Brain Man
Dropping about 2/3 of the way in. Started slow, got interesting, then got stupid.
Plus, I'm sick of the FL doctor speaking in that meek, tiny whispery voice like a somnambulant Geisha or something. She's a freaking, accomplished doctor, for god's sake, not some frightened, mousy housewife.

Other final straw is the annoying, bratty Lesbian chicks who come off as middle schoolers on a Halloween prank, not psychopathic, bloodthirsty killers.

The big confrontation on the highway was full of lame choreography. There were at least four clear opportunities to kill the Head Lezzo but of course no one too the shot.

Ikuta Toma as the "Brain Man" is about the only good thing in this movie but he can't carry it all on his own. He's so skinny but so ripped. Amazing.

Pretty bad.

Title An Affair
EXCELLENT, old fashioned-lust/romance/adultery flick. Great acting and great shots of the ML's stunning body. For once, in a straight romantic drama, the male body gets the bulk of the camera's attention. He's gorgeous.

FL is stunning as well, and a great actress. All-round good stuff. Highly recommended.

Title An Affair
I stumbled on this one and loved it! The actors had great chemistry. The plot was a bit predictable but then again…
I liked this a lot too, Geegee. Don't remember how I found it. A good, old-fashioned adultery/passion/lust movie. Felt like a Golden Age-Hollywood type tragic romance from the 40s or 50s.

The idea that Ren, who is taller/bigger than the drunk office guy, could be slapped around like a useless dishrag…
How do you know a comment you didn't read is "ignorant?" lol
Oh dear, did you not look at the photos I provided for your edification?
I didn't say anything about rape. Why? Do you think about men raping men a lot?
I said a tiny man can't overcome a younger, stronger, bigger man, especially with one blow, after which the bigger man rolls around on the floor like a noodle. Poor Aloha can't even act weak convincingly.
Now, if you want to talk about "rape," I suppose a strong man could be raped by an even stronger man, or a group of smaller men together could overwhelm him.
But again...why this talk of rape? Did someone get raped in this last episode and I missed it? Seems like I would have noticed that.

lol

Who tells you stuff like this? Do you actually believe that? Do you think the superhero The Hulk, if feeling fragile, could be slapped around to the floor by Pee Wee Herman? (I am appending to this reply photos of the Hulk and Pee Wee.) Because that's what your reasoning implies.

I think you like the show so you need to believe everything onscreen is plausible, even young, strong men being slapped around by little twerps. Which is fine. Believe what you need to make the show work for you.

Title Tokyo in April Is... Spoiler
The manager, Sanada is really much bigger than Ren in the manga. You could see him being easily able to dominate…
Wow, I had no idea the Manga on which this is based is so very much darker than this adaptational drivel. I really don't get this habit a lot of BL-makers have of taking a very popular Manga or novel, rich with transgressive plot elements and angst, and trying to tone it WAY down into something all the SJWs will approve. Surely there is much tamer source material out there to be adapted. They start with a popular piece and take everything out of it that made it popular. Makes no sense.

The coming attempted rape in the office is a perfect example: Ren looks like an idiot pretending to be slapped around by that weasely shrimp on the floor; it's downright comical. The manager flipped him onto his stomach and he just laid there having a flashback or something, as if his entire skeleton has been removed. lol Such things turn what should be an extremely dramatic, shocking plot element into a satire.

I haven't read a Manga in a while, so I thank you for the link, Sol. Much appreciated.

"deliciously disturbing." I love that phrase. It's got groovy alliteration but more importantly, it's such a cool…
Indeed! And hooray for weirdos. Actually, we're not really all that weird. We're just much more open about feelings a lot of people keep to themselves for fear of being gang-shamed. Meanwhile, the shamers know exactly the feelings we're open about but they're frozen with fear of them. It is truly sad to see young people becoming more prudish, judgmental, and Puritanical with time, rather than the other way around.

What's with all this taking pictures and gossiping about 2 guys who seem to be affectionate towards each other?…
What you're complaining about is a big part of the fun of this show. Newsflash: People DO enjoy watching other people, gay or straight or otherwise, make their way toward becoming a couple. People have been this way forever. They live to speculate on the love lives of others, and to a point there is nothing at all wrong with it, especially when half of the couple-to-be is an adorable gay guy everyone knows is gay except him, and who they like immensely. They want him to be happy and they know JC has what it takes to make BX VERY happy.

And in the age of digital technology and smartphones, this fun speculation is easier than ever. Now, of course there comes a point where online chatter can be mean and hurtful. There has been NOTHING in the online chatter on this show that is either of those things. I laughed and loved it when, last episode, someone online said "Is my BX finally coming out?" "Let's take bets on who's the top, who's the bottom?" Sure, that can be stupid, but people say all kinds of stupid things; it's all in the WAY people talk about these things that make the chatter OK or not OK. In the case of this show, EVERYTHING has been more than OK, it's been delightful.

People like you are known as "spoilsports." I bet you're LOTS of fun at parties.

Wow.
This show has reduced me, a cynical, old fluff-hating bastard, into a warm, shimmering puddle of Panda Bears and lollipops. This is by far perhaps the sweetest, most charming BL I have seen and I've seen them all, except for the ones out of Thailand which I normally watch an episode of, then drop.

SBMS has all the heart, adorability, light humor, romance, love and soft sexual tension 80 Thai BLs have tried to manufacture, but failed.

These two leads are an unlikely but perfect example of creative casting. One all skin, bones and goofiness, the other all smooth cool and confident sexiness. And yet the chemistry between them is palpable and powerful. I actually teared up this episode when they hugged upon Jiang Chi's return from caring for his dad. And how is it the gangly, silly Bu Xia makes me want to hold him and kiss him on the cheek (and then do other things). He is NOT my type! lol

I love just watching JC watching BX with that adoring, patient, tender gaze. Seriously, I think I have goose-bumped during several scenes when the camera simply showed us JC drinking in BX, who he clearly adores and treasures. He's just waiting, while applying gentle and persistent pressure to help BX move toward what he doesn't yet fully grasp he wants.

Two things: It has been cool to watch JC at first be puzzled and surprised by his feelings for BX, but then so freely embrace them without undue angst. On the other hand, watching BX go through a tender process of coming out to himself, little by little, is a delight. There is a lot of truth there.

Chattering, silly ghosts, talismans and incense? Count me in. I love this show. :)

Me too. I mentioned below that the fake punch was the unintentional, comedic highlight of this episode. 🤪🤪🤪

Did anyone else laugh when Kazuma was pretending to run on a treadmill in front of a moving green-screen projection? lol Embarrassing.

I wasn't that excited by this episode. Its more like a bridge episode than anything else. I'm not sure I buy why…
oooh...I think I will check out the Manga. Sounds hot. But as I noted in a long comment above, this is what happens when someone tries to make a tv-friendly BL out of a kinky, deliciously nasty Manga. They have to cut so much of the good stuff there's nothing left worth watching. This should have been made as a feature film; the plot elements are twisted af and I'm there for that. This show feels like what "Dangerous Drugs of Sex" would have been if someone tried to make a BL out of it.

Japan's BL is simply exciting. The productions don't just work on two men who love each other, they add photography,…
What show are you watching?

hahaha...so true. Why take a taxi when you can pretend to run breathlessly on a treadmill in front of a moving green-screen background?

I was going to agree but then you listed things that we saw in the worst BLs. In my opinion, the basic requirement…
It's OK, you can say it: The leads are both terrible actors, in way over their heads.

The idea that Ren, who is taller/bigger than the drunk office guy, could be slapped around like a useless dishrag and you know what, is utterly ridiculous.
