Japan and Korea make the best freaking sports films!

Loved seeing Kubozuka Yosuke as such a young actor here. I've only ever seen him in much more adult roles. He is hilariously excellent as Peco and I spent the first half of the movie thinking "who ISSSSS that...?" before I finally looked it up here and couldn't believe it but instantly saw the resemblance to his older self. Not otherwise familiar with Iura Arata's other stuff, but will make myself so. They are expertly balanced off each other here.

Another delight was discovering at the same time it was Sam Lee (!!!!) playing "China," the ringer brought in by the other high school. lol This is only five years after "Made In Hong Kong" in which he is beyond mesmerizing as a young, punk/thug with a heart and a style all his own, and yet I NEVER would have recognized him had I not stumbled across the list of guest stars. Just shows how good an actor he is.

Gets a 9.5./10 from me. Naturally, the MDL rating is far below what the film deserves.

What exactly do you respect? These struggling actors probably need the cash or being sold by their parents. Do…
So you think your OPINION is fact because you say so...not true. Also, it doesn't matter who wrote what first, you just keep coming back with the same lame replies stating you are right because you say you're right. It's absurd.

What exactly do you think the "impact" is on these young actors from kissing just like they and many of their peers do in real life? How are they harmed? Please be specific.

I assure you I am not "young," lol. I am older than dirt, which is why I am much wiser than you. :)

Not bad, nothing great though. Fine acting but no ebbs, flows or thrills. Felt the same at the end as at the beginning although a lot had actually taken place.

I hope Park Jong Hwan has gotten rid of that peach-fuzzy mustache and goatee, or it's grown in a lot thicker. Looked like he needed to wash his lip and chin to get a bit of dirt off.

Lots of handsome Korean men to appreciate.

Pretty damn good Yakuza flick. Stylish, great fight choreography and execution. I was able to follow the somewhat complicated story line which is saying something. Watching this type of thing I often lose track of who is killing whom and why and for who, etc.

Two male leads are great together. A few nice homoerotic undertones here and there between them and a couple other Yakuza bosses along the way...the tones are pretty far under though.

What this lacks I think is what the Koreans seem so good at almost always bringing to their crime and Yakuza flicks: depth and layering in characterizations so that often the viewer ends up rooting even for sympathetic villains who do bad things because we get a feel for WHY they are the way they are. Here, the character backstories are fairly shallow. The emphasis is on overall plot, action, sets, and settings. Acting is great overall.

But it loses points for not bowling me over. I'm glad I watched but I wasn't tied up in knots while doing so.

Low-key, quirky, oddball Korean comedy with lots of laughs, just the way I like them. I'll watch anything with Yoo in it of course, and it was fun to watch him at work this young. Love the casting of his sister, who looks like a female version of Yoo.

Well, Makeeda, one thing that's weird is you saying you're "not going back and forth with me over this" and then going back and forth with me over this by adding another reply. Get a grip.

Listen, I'm sorry you have unhealthy hangups about two 14 year-olds kissing, as if that doesn't happen in the real world a million times every day. The fact you think it IS weird means there is something wrong with YOU.

Please stop trying to make up excuses justifying your unhealthy psychological/sex problems.

All best to you in your search for a healthy attitude toward sex.

J100, your opinion that this PERFORMANCE of PRETENDED actions by young ACTORS is "inappropriate" is just that, your opinion and nothing more. Just as my belief the opposite is true is MY opinion. Repeating yourself and using pompous language does not make your opinion into fact.

I grasp everything about this situation just fine, thank you.

I would like it a lot better if I could understand more XD XD XD finance world is not my cup of tea, but still…
Interesting. I hate numbers, math and economics, but I felt like this movie did a great job of explaining what was happening every step of the way. It helps to keep in mind that economics is to a great degree bullshit, which is largely what this movie is all about. As was clearly indicated, the supposed experts at the top had little idea what was going on either. Nor did many of them care.

ONLY on MDL is this film anything less than a 9.5/10.
7.8/10 my ass!
wth is wrong with this place?

This film is magnificent. I am not someone who seeks out financial thrillers. Numbers bore and frighten me in equal measure. I only watched it after stumbling across the title on a search for a different film and seeing Yoo Oh In's name in the cast. I will give anything he's in a chance. This is one of his finest performances, which is saying something. I would say it is his very best performance, but the roles he has played which I consider to be on the same level of excellence are all so different how does one compare them? YAI is in good health here, at the top of his game in every way and I was powerfully reminded why I consider him one of the finest actors in the world.

Kim Hye Soo...breath-taking! Holy shit, just spectacular in the subtlety and power with which she plays this part. Her character is sharp as a razor, tough as nails, but with an inner core of rich, empathetic feeling for her fellow human beings, rich or poor and in between. She is the heart of this film, which to a large degree is an ensemble piece.

JUST WATCH THIS FREAKING EXCELLENT FILM!

10/10 (and I never give out 10/10s).

What show are you watching? I'd like to see it too.
Ha! Our tastes couldn't be more disaligned.

Minato's is a retread of itself.
Will probably drop it.

BMF is the usual tripe out of Thailand.
Dropped it after hanging on by my fingernails for three episodes.

SWM is the usual homophobic, gay-baiting, we-won't-go-gay-but-we'll-sure-take-your-money garbage out of China.
Dropped within the first 20 minutes.

Thailand and China keep churning out trash because too many BL viewers will eat anything put in front of them, no matter how stinky.

Takamatsu Aloha's mile-wide shoulders are stunning.
The leads are extremely well-cast, both physically and demeanor-wise.
Not really down with a fairly brief BL becoming a women's Me-Too Movement drama. Focus the limited time on the MC please.
Otherwise, mostly good show.

This obviously has affected you a lot, which is understandable. So then why did you choose to watch it since you…
So they could go on a hysterical, self-righteous, naive rant in comments. And because they got a vicarious thrill out of watching the cheating they tell themselves they find so appalling. lol It's a common phenomenon on MDL.

Adore this film. I watched it a couple years ago but just now rewatched and I've no idea why it didn't make more of an impression the first time. I laughed my ass off for a while, then wept for the last 45 minutes, in a good way.

Lee Min Ki is powerfully charismatic and sexy, while Yeo Jin Goo is as soulful and innocent as he is beautiful. Acting from both is superb. The bromance between them is as close to a romance as I think you can get without going all the way there...

I liked the somewhat open ending. I like to think they're living together as a couple on a mountain somewhere, hang-gliding their lives away. :)

My only objection is to the unnecessary and false representation of Electro-Convulsive Therapy as a tortuous, horror-show. It is very much NOT that. It is a useful and effective treatment for depression that still gets a bad rap because of the American film "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," in which it was portrayed in an even more egregious manner. This flick didn't help.

Other than that, love it.

This. This. This. Everything you've written would make for a much more engaging script. I'd also love to see Shin…
BRAVO! lol Well-said, Jolly.
"Resplendent in the t-shirt." hahaha, snort.

At the big "spare key" moment I thought "well hell, that's probably the spare key to the old place grandma and grandpa are going to tear down..." This script is so lame I would not be surprised.

Along with the rest of this, it becomes less and less plausible that confident, accomplished Shin, who otherwise seems to have a very healthy self-image and sense of his own worth, would allow himself to be endlessly degraded in this way. I understand and get that sometimes quality people fall in love with damaged goods, but I don't believe the Shin we've come to know would put up with this for two years, no matter HOW much it hurts to let go.
