Finally encountered a dialogue that warms my heart. Yamato's words, a soft balm to Kakeru's self-doubts, revealed…
Still auditioning? :D

This show has me squealing like one of the 13-year-old girls who run this site and swarm comment sections. There have been a few Japanese BLs lately initiating a whole new sub-genre: Sexy-Fluff BL. I'm on board with "Sexy Fluff!"
That weird little, pink stuffed animal thing that changes its "arms" to communicate with Kakeru is mega-cute and adorable and a great gimmick.
Yamato is stunningly handsome, but Kakeru gets better-looking each episode.
The gift-exchange scene, omg..."I am dying of happiness." Cuuuuuuuuuuuuute. Me too!

I admire the skill with which the writers and actors are portraying Kakeru's struggle with internalized homophobia/fear and the general awkwardness of the process his affection/love for Yamato is taking him through. Yamato's pursuit of Kakeru has brought these feelings and thoughts to the forefront, but it's clear Kakeru already harbored deep affection for his life-long friend.

Love the bleach-blond dude and the other supportive friends and sister. Blondie has a great, unique and entertaining way of supporting the leads while also nudging and teasing them in a way guy-friends do.

This series is an example of keeping a coming-out/coming-of-age story light without it becoming all rainbows, unicorns, and cotton candy. Fluff done right! "Sexy Fluff!"

But oh my god....Yamato might kiss Kakeru while he's fake-sleeping! SEXUAL ASSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUULT!

Subs on kisskh are terrible. Anyone have better suggestions? They're so bad on kisskh I stopped watching because it's confusing and I feel I'm missing half the meaning of the dialogue.

It's out on KissKh without subs. Now, while I usually don't watch shows raw, I did watch the opening 5 min. And…
He is indeed a beautiful man, but I wish a lot of Korean and Japanese BLs would stop costuming their characters as if everything they wear is brand new, off the rack and never been worn. Who cooks with a spotless white turtleneck on, even if they're wearing an apron? He should have sweatpants and a lived-in, old sweatshirt on. These shows always look as though they're modeling some clothing manufacturer's products as a product placement, which they probably are.

The funny, entertaining "Stay By My Side" is a good example of characters dressing like people that age and demographic actually dress, and a lot of their clothes look like they've had them a few years.

This spotless, new clothing thing makes the show feel sterile and artificial. These kinds of details, just like set design and set dressing, location choices, etc., may seem unimportant to a lot of viewers, but they combine to give a show its ambience and that affects the viewer's subconscious perceptions.

This is a really fucked up love story between two immature people. I enjoyed it nevertheless ~~

Half an hour in and I'm bored. Plus, there are so many plot holes and implausibilities it's ridiculous.

The ML is incredibly hot. I hope he's made some other films so I can drool over him in those.

*points out at the last scene of episode 1 My guess he's not 3,500 yrs old but his old school friend that dies…
"first boy sitting" Do you mean in a photograph or something?
That is an intriguing possibility. But if the angel is his brother, there's no opportunity for romance...unless this turns out to be a groundbreaking series about gay incest. lol
Actually, I've seen no sign that Koki is gay. He has talked about having gone out with women, thus so far I'm not feeling the BL here at all.

Some odd plot holes.
No reference to how the forgotten night took place. Drugged? If so, when? With what?
In the opening scene the dad is a great guy taking her out for pizza. Next time we see him he's become a psycho asshole. No transition, explanation, context, nothing.

This bullying thing has reached epic proportions in Korea. Now teachers are killing themselves because kids are running wild, but they're not empowered to stop it, nor respected by their administrations OR the brat students.

I'd say this film begins to run off the rails about midway, and loses what felt like momentum toward some satisfying climax...but meh.

Wow. I missed that. Has Kiko made reference to what you mention, some friend that died young?

Hello, I know that it's been a month, but I believe that the movie addresses and explores all of these issues.…
Thank you for your reply. I'm not surprised this is how the plot went, but as I said above, I was not only grossed out that they were pretending a dead body with a dead brain was alive, I was bored. The acting/direction/pacing just put me off, so I dropped it.

Also, I don't like how the mother was portrayed here since she was really supportive of her daughter in real life.…
This is a fictional, live-action dramatic film BASED ON actual events, not a documentary meant to recreate exactly what happened IRL. Filmmakers can change parts of such stories in any way they want. They do it all the time.

Nope. No way in hell I'm watching this. Just ran across it and made the mistake of googling the event this film…
I understand the gist of your comment, but surely you know shit like this and shit a hundred times worse has gone down all over the world every single day since humans have existed. What's most appalling are those fucking parents and others in authority who for reasons far beyond me, are allowed to re-victimize and traumatize victims in situations like this and many other cases in Korea. I won't pretend to understand what that's all about because it's so fucked up I kind of don't want to understand, I just want it to stop.

And casting great actors.
I'm getting up there myself, but so far no significant issues. It'll happen though, just as you say. However, I definitely did not get the memo about growing up.

Things I like:
Korn, Korn, and Korn
Knock/Korn chemistry
Yiwha: character AND actor
Leads' commitment to character, including uninhibited physical expressions of love
Farm's turning into a devious but cute manipulator and ho to punish Bright
All the representations of characters as real people with flaws who sometimes fail to live up to their own standards and hurt others
Representations of regret, remorse, apology, and forgiveness
Exciting, challenging, unexpected, and transgressive behaviors from main characters, which provided intense drama and major feels
Rit's cuteness
Korn, Knock, Cho, Fai, and Rit's bodies
The group window peeping at Korn/Knock

Things I don't like:
Bright the actor
Fai being a self-righteous, judgmental busy-body with no life of her own - kept wishing someone would tell her to mind her own business. But then I realized Fai is there to speak for all the self-righteous busy-bodies in the audience who think they're fit to pass judgment on others for being human. Still don't like Fai's nosiness and attitude.
The entire Yiwha/Art thing turning out to not even have happened at all - extremely bogus storytelling and deliberate misdirection from the writers. Why would Yiwha go on letting everyone think she'd banged Art when no such thing ever took place?
All the long, unnecessary pauses between characters' lines in dialogue. People don't talk like that.
The unending, annoying music, telling us how to feel about every word that was spoken or act that was made. Cheesy and insulting.

Still, this is one of the best Thai BLs in existence. I give it a 10/10 to counteract some of the psychos here who gave it a 1/10 because, omg, someone...CHEATED!!!!!!!! Grow up, people.

Ah, the tale where an angel, with a demeanor of a tiny adult, mildly chides Koki for his rough edges, born not…
As you explore and share, consider the words of Nobel Prize-winning author William Faulkner, "In writing, you must kill all your darlings."

Faulkner meant that writers must ruthlessly eliminate any words, flowery descriptives or turns of phrase that they personally love but that do nothing for the story, or in this case, the comment. Just a thought.

Not that you asked. Feel free to ignore me.

The plus side of the sorry fact that few MDLers are watching this excellent show is that we don't have to read inane comments by 13-year-old fangirls expressing outrage at the "appalling age gap" between Koki and Angel. lol Just like everything else, the age gap is part of what makes this interesting, intriguing and NOT a Thai fluff-fest.

Besides, Angel may be 3,500 years old!

If anything, it's a subversive fluff-fest. Angel's wings are, after all, fluffy.
