Just completed it after 1.5 days of binge-watching, and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this drama. Each episode features different stories, and I found myself anticipating how things would unfold. Still trying to sit with the ending as I'm still attached to the characters and plot... The cinematography is truly amazing. Action scenes are really good. I highly recommend this.
Really great story, and the acting was on point. It's one of the few memorable Chinese dramas that I've just finished. The only one that made me tear alongside the characters.
I get it that some people might think Day blaming Night for him losing his eyesight is unreasonable, etc., but we don't know much about their relationship before the accident. From how the dad told Day that ever since the accident, Night started to become the big brother that Day wanted, does this mean it's mostly Day taking care of Night (aka clearing up his mess, like how he had to pick him up cause Night got himself too wasted to get home)? Their relationship was perhaps more like Day having no choice since Night is his brother (in a sense, some form of tolerance involved?).
It was indeed quite dumb of Day not to stop to look for the plastic bag or focus on the road and let Night vomit because safety is a priority. But he might be panicking and more concerned about his car than anything, and one can be illogical when too focused on something. And when he's the one who got the short end of the stick from the accident, together with his personality, he might just be blaming Night all the while because he needed to blame something/someone for his outcome. Maybe deep down, he knows it's not Night's fault, but he just needed something to hold onto to keep living (even if it's in denial). Maybe he's really just unreasonable. We don't know. What we see on screen is not really enough for us to conclude anything until they talk it out, which I hope they do in the last few episodes. I genuinely hope they can mend their relationship. :(
Decided to try out the first episode after reading mixed comments here on MDL, and I must say that it's definitely steamier and more daring than other BL shows imo. The mystery behind the disappearance impels me to continue more so than those scenes. Might wait for a few more episodes to be released before I binge watch.
Finally, got to finish the series. The ending was great although kind of sad... What a ride. I was hooked right from the first episode. I wonder if there will be any other Kamen Rider series that can make me so into it as much as I do in Build.
