The girls were cute, the acting was ok, story wasn't particularly interesting but it was cute nonetheless.…
I disagree, there is a nice build-up. In fact, every detail tells us something about their relationship. For example, in a couple of scenes, we see Sayuri burning candles and praying for her mom. And when Yui enters Sayuri's room for the first time, she looks at the picture of Sayuri and her mom carefully. Also, while the series doesn't spend much time on Yui's workplace, a good amount of time is about Sayuri's problems with her schoolmates and her future study and job. All these helps us understand how much Sayuri misses her mom's support, and how Yui with her caring, attentive, and motherly personality comes to fill the gap and give Sayuri what she needs. So, a really good match is formed!
Can't agree more. I hate to see a 'lover' demeaning herslf/himself to reach their beloved 'God'. I Still struggle to understand why this is so popular. Happy to see other people with the same impression.
I was really hoping he would stop the bus and run back to her ????
Sorry, but he's dumber than this. If he'd had some brain, he would've visited Koto after her break-up to see what exactly happened. But he likes to surrender himself to what happens to him, especially when it comes from Toko
Toko: The dumbest character in the history of romance. At age 21, in only one day, she completely ruins her promising romantic relationship with Kiyotaka, her lover with shared background, interests, and plans. But the best thing about Toko is her persistence. You can be sure that in every turning point of her life, she makes the dumbest decision, as she basically learns nothing. Overall, she is the best in terms of torturing herself, her lover, and the viewers of the series, 'Soshite, Ikiru'.
Ok. So i really struggled to understand the thinking behind the decision making of each character? Even after…
Couldn't agree more. Maybe just adding that these two stupid characters don't deserve sympathy. They decide to live all their lives in pain, so we have to respect their decision.
