I’ve decided to watch DTS after reading good things about it on Twitter.
I do not regret all the hours I’ve put in to watch until now, I did watch all the episodes with subtitles so far.
I recommed people who like to watch war movies and TV series with romance to check it out and make their own judgements.
Good acting, the plots and character's stories are good, the main characters are likeable, some secondary characters are likeable, the visual and sound effects are decent, the CGI is decent.
I do not watch Chinese dramas like this usually because of the amount of political propaganda this kind of drama have. But this drama is not so politically driven.
I can’t say much about real history and how much real history have been put into the drama’s plot so I can’t judge on that. I’m simply lazy to do research.
The main flaws for me so far are: Certain situations are overexxagerated and overdramatized besides several medical inaccuracies along the way.
It’s sad to see internet’s trolls coming bashing the drama without watching and bashing HYT.
For people who worried about HYT’s acting. In DTS, his acting is really very good and very convincing.

It's not just here, in Douban she is being bashed as well.
It's not YCY's fault that her character is like this so far. She is just following instructions coming from the director, screenwriter and etc.
Let's hope the screenriters make Wen Rou mature quicker and become more useful character.
In the world of the novel, the character Wen Rou have time to mature and learn while in the drama it might not be not possible. There is still a very long journey until the end of the drama to judge so soon.
I know very little about Wen Rou in the novel but from what I've gathered, she is not "useless" all the time.

It's not originally a BL. It's based on a series of novels written years ago. No BL in the books. It's friendship and sworn brotherhood. Friendship and sworn brotherhood are very common elements in wuxia. From what I've read in few comments, Wen Rou's character goes through changes while maturing along the years in each novel. Since this is a drama of 38 episodes, let's hope the screenwriter speed up her maturity.
