This premise sounds like it is a very truthful retelling of actual history. Definitely facts that CANNOT be distorted. "During the latter part of the 14th century, King Taejong abolished the Goryeo Dynasty in order to establish the Kingdom of Joseon. Some were aware of the deal he made with an evil spirit — which in turn used their power to possess humans who would control and terrorize the world. The king’s sons, Princes Chung Nyung and Yang Nyeong, are his main opposition, each with a different reason for standing in his way."
How many people actually KNOW the history of their country in detail? or know the true story since all history books are written by the ones that won? I don't know about you, but I've watched a lot of dramas that take incredible liberties with telling a story, even if it includes references to true historical events. I'm also not stupid enough to take the re-telling as literal fact or as an insult to written history and then, in the name of patriotism, actively work to get a show cancelled like the Korean netizens did. Cancel culture is abhorrent. Aggressive patriotism is also problematic.
I like it so far. Obviously like others have said, they're worried the ending will be bad, but that's with any…
I’ve watched a bunch of his dramas and movies because he’s one of my fave actors. He just finished playing a serial killer in the Netflix show ‘Somebody’ and he’s definitely an extremely highly skilled actor.
I just finished watching The Forbidden Marriage and now I need to re-watch this. Kim Young Dae is like my happy pill and just seeing him smile seems to make everything better.
This drama was -okay-... nothing fantastic but also not terrible. The original was better BUT I found I got frustrated with the strung out storyline at times in the Chinese original. This version shortens the angst down for a quicker and cuter watch while maintaining the biggest parts of the plot development. The reduced time also reduces the character development, so you lose some of the connection you feel to the story and the characters. If a quick and cute watch is your jam then this is a decent choice as a filler between dramas. The original version has better character development, but also more angst and filler content, so if you like C-Dramas then the original is a better choice.
1. How many 2022 released dramas did you watch? 52 completed, 14 put on hold, and 85 on the PTW list.
2. What country did you watch the most in 2022? Of the 2022 aired shows I watched a very even mix of Korean and Chinese (22 Korean, 23 Chinese, 5 Thai, 2 Japanese). The on hold list has a less balanced number (3 Korean, 7 Chinese, 3 Thai, 1 Japanese). Of the 97 shows I completed in 2022 41 were Korean, 38 were Chinese, 10 were Thai, 5 were Japanese, and 3 were Taiwanese.
3. What genre(s) do you usually watch? My top 5 are: Romance, Comedy, Drama, Youth, and Life (in order)
4. What is your top drama listed in this article? Love Between Fairy And Devil, Alchemy Of Souls, and Lighter & Princess
5. What is your top drama NOT listed in this article? I had a LOT of show’s I fell hard for in 2022: Shining For One Thing, KinnPorsche, Legally Romance, May I Help You, The Oath Of Love, and A Business Proposal. Also, these three started airing in December 2022 and ended in January 2023: Hi Venus, Hit The Spot, and Alchemy Of Souls Season 2.
6. How was your drama journey in 2022? This year I added Thai dramas into the mix. I had never watched any before the middle of 2022, and in the last few months I binge-watched some of the most recommended shows. I also only ever watched dramas that had finished airing, but I had sooooo many shows spoiled in recent years. In 2022 I started watching currently airing shows that caught my eye. I STILL haven’t watched Vincenzo because of the spoilers ☹
7. What is your wish or plan in dramaland in 2023? I’d like to say I want to get some of my PTW list added to my Completed list, but lets be honest here. I add new shows to my PTW list daily, it has 419 shows on it already and will likely be 500 in the not-too-distant future. Instead, I’d like to go finish off some of the shows I placed on hold for unknown reasons with only a few episodes left. I have 95 shows on hold, some of which have 17/22, 21/26, 14/16, 36/48 episodes watched.
Don't apologize. This person is just being a troll. Talking about a kiss isn't a spoil. Every damn show that lists "romance" in it's genre list will have kisses, let alone one with "extreme sexual content" and "prolonged nudity" as a tag. There's a lot of kisses in this show between the mains plus the little side stories they depict in the radio show. I've seen actual spoilers in comments that no one even bats an eye at. The last show I watched had the entire premise in the synopsis even though in the show you don't find out the truth until the 20th episode.
The kiss in episode 4 was indeed VERY hot. And then the shirtless scene in the following episode was even better! I also felt my single status extra hard these last few episodes!
Youth (2018) is easily my favourite of this type of high school to college romance stories. I fell head over heels…
That’s the first drama I saw him in, then I found “Youth” by accident on some TikTok edit showing some of the cute scenes… I watched it in 2 days and immediately was addicted to Simon as the ML. His VOICE is just amazing. You’ll know if you watch it. And yes, it’s a happy ending, but not how you would expect. I don’t want to drop any spoilers since the ending is unexpected, yet still happy. But first it will rip your heart out.
Disappointed with the way they written male characters in this drama. If this drama is really about sex education?…
Maybe they’re trying to show people that sometimes staying in a long relationship that’s toxic and unfulfilling isn’t necessary. That it’s ok to break up after 5 years if you no longer feel loved or respected. Maybe they want women to know it’s not okay to be treated with disdain or blame if they try to communicate their needs to their partner. If a man does this to you at 5 years he will do it at 10, 15, and 20. She made efforts to work on the relationship, to have open communication, to discuss what was bothering her and his reaction was to ignore, blame, and become defensive. Is that a relationship worth keeping? Why do people think we need to keep dragging a dead relationship around like it’s something noble and good? If our partner can’t even bother to know we hate strawberries after being together for 5 years then can they even really be considered a partner? I, for one, was extremely proud of her for ending it, and told my TV screen “YAASSSSS QUEEN! You show him how amazing you are and what he just lost!”
This is a show about sex education. It’s also telling women it’s ok to have desires, to want certain things, to need satisfaction, and to seek it in our own way. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with her having consensual sex whenever she pleases or ‘throwing herself into another man’s arms’. To quote Grey’s Anatomy “I make no apologies for how I chose to repair what you broke.”
P.S. Props to Coupangplay for doing what the big guns like netflix , disney+ , hulu or even appletv+ couldn't…
I was the one that added the most recent edits, including the ratings. When editing I selected the nudity/profanity option but when it went live on the page it was the violence one. Not sure why it got altered, but the proper rating was submitted at the time of editing 😩
