YES! He's my absolute favourite part of this drama so far. His story is what keeps me watching. From the second…
I really like the little bit of romance, it's cute watching her be completely oblivious. Joon Young's crush on her is so adorable because it's not an "in your face" type of romance. It's almost like a teenager with his first crush getting butterflies when the girl he likes walks past him in the hallway at school. It seems very innocent and just adds some cute nuance to his character. I think if they omitted scenes like this the audience would have a harder time liking him and connecting with him based on his *activities* with that other boss.
Rating going down for this. It was better to go without romance in this drama. They really lack chemistry and…
I think there is a very very very mild love square going on. The deputy editor has building feelings for her (whether that's more friendship or relationship has yet to be really shown), her co-worker has a fairly obvious crush on her, and her artist seems to be developing a bit of a reverence towards her as a PD... and all the while she is oblivious to all of this and is madly in love with webtoons. hahaha. Also, in the drama and in real life she is 26, and the deputy editor is in his early to mid 30's (I don't remember them saying his exact drama age, but the actor is 36 IRL), which is a pretty acceptable age gap by most societal standards. People seem to accept the traditional older man/younger woman pairing before they will accept the older woman/younger man noona romances.
Kim Do Hoon is spectacular in his acting so far. I'm really impressed. Please do it consistently up to the last…
YES! He's my absolute favourite part of this drama so far. His story is what keeps me watching. From the second he appeared I was **INVESTED** in him. In episode 9 I started crying so hard I got the hiccups (if you've seen this far you'll know what scene I'm talking about). He's so dark but so sweet. The scene with the kittens in the rain was another of my favourites, and he totally melted my heart. Seeing someone with hardly anything to his name give his umbrella away to animals that have even less is the true essence of a pure soul.
8/10 for the story up until the wedding. 2/10 for the story from immediately after the wedding until the end. I will admit, episode 24 was cute as a weird filler episode. But the continuity is wrong if you consider the first episode he had asked his two buddies to find her and he didn't know her name until they gave him her 'file'. If he was so involved with her birth and then saw her again 5 years later etc you'd think he would at least know her name in this life. He said "I'll find you in 20 years"... why not find her in 18? You know she's going to die at 25, so why would you try to find her right before she dies? Writers these days... really. They didn't explain how he knew the exact date/time she would be born either, since, as far as I'm aware, the foxes can't see the future...
I'm ultra-sad about the veggiesaurus and meatasaurus foxes and their terribly unfulfilling ending. The writers did that dynamic duo dirty.
I don't know why everyone hates this drama, I actually liked it, yes there was some unnecessary scenes here and…
I totally agree on this! although I never felt too bad for the SFL because of how duplicitous she became out of jealousy. She knew from the very beginning that things would not go how she wanted, but she still crossed every boundary that was set by the ML and burned her friendships to the ground.
I was quite surprised after I finished it and came to check out the comment section. I've watched shows that are WAY worse with much higher ratings. I think that the poster may be misleading some of the young viewers into thinking that this is a cute reverse-harem drama that's full of fluff and romance and they don't notice that the second tag is TRAUMA. This doesn't follow the traditional timeline of "ML/FL meet -> ML/FL begin to fall in love -> ML/FL resolve issues together -> ML/FL live happily ever after". Maybe these young viewers that were expecting something cute and heart-fluttering instead got a realistic look at the lengths people will go to feel loved, and rather than rate the show on its own merits they choose to give it low stars and call it "bad and stupid".
catch me crying in the club when wo young envisioned the hurt orca whale with the curved dorsal fin in ep 9. whattttt…
I got all watery at that part too! They didn't explicitly say it, but it's obvious the guy had suffered heavily as a child along with his 2 other brothers due to their mothers pride. He was a trapped orca trying to make sure the baby orcas didn't end up like him. oh my heart. Perfect episode, I just wish they had shown what the judge decided to sentence him with!
Ok, I've had so many 'squeeee' moments from this show so far and I'm ADORING the dynamics between Bai Lu and Xu…
Oh god. I'm on Episode 29 where she's eating and crying about him not showing up to a dinner she forced on him... I'm actually laughing GLEEFULLY. I'm a horrible human. But damn girl... stop being a bulldozer, listen to him when he says he only sees you as a friend, and move on.
Ok, I've had so many 'squeeee' moments from this show so far and I'm ADORING the dynamics between Bai Lu and Xu Kai , but I'm starting to get annoyed. I really liked the singer girl at first, she was fun and hilarious most of the time... then she got super clingy with the ML and started to irritate me to DEATH. I get really bad second-hand embarrassment from characters like this. He has FIRMLY voiced his boundaries over and over and over and over and over and she just bulldozes right past them and forces her feelings on him 24/7. I hope she sorts herself out soon because it's at a point where every time she appears on the screen my annoyance level goes from 0 to 100.
Why does it feel like this is based on real life story of writer of the manhwa?
The writer of Yumi's Cells is a guy named Lee DongGun. This is a quote from him about Yumi's character: "Lee Dong Gun stated that when it came to Yumi’s personality, it was based on multiple people that he’s met, rather than one single person. Yumi’s looks, however, are a completely different story! The author revealed that the physical characteristics were based on none other than former AOA member Choa, who previously rocked a blonde bob that became her trademark hairstyle!"
Also from an interview: The detailed descriptions of Yumi’s thought process and the subtle changes are so well conveyed, that a lot of readers assumed Lee was female. “It’s a pleasing misunderstanding because it means that I expressed everything in real detail,” he said. “It is a webtoon, but I think a lot of people regarded it as a short story. I think people identified with Yumi, regardless of their gender. People begin building their own lives in society when they are in their 20s and 30s, and most live similar lives and have similar thoughts and emotions in life and love. People’s desires and emotions are all similar, regardless of gender.”
The Ceo of Hanbada (Han seon young) seems a bit suspicious, I hope I'm wrong though.
I feel like she is just someone from the past that had a crush on Young Woo's dad in law school, but she lost to Young Woo's mom... love triangle/unrequited love vibes
Is breaking up really the right decision? Just because he got flustered? How is it his fault that she’s cute.…
This is so true! I've been in 3 long-term relationships in my life and not one of them would have lasted a full year if I had been the "all or nothing" type. The younger and immature viewers will learn their own lessons after a few 'all or nothing' breakups, and like Yumi, a couple years later will be sitting there trying to figure out why they broke up in the first place (like how she thought about her breakup with Woong).
It's totally worth to watch .All the episodes were entertaining and won't be lagging.Storyline and the actors…
What? did you actually watch the drama? Most of the first 8 episodes was a love triangle and a huge part of the last episode was just one big breakup montage.
Okay seriously when did late 30s, early 40s become middle aged? I must have missed that memo cause I would have…
Accurate! I'm a 36 year old woman with the humor and mentality of a 19 year old boy. It's not like they hand you a knit sweater and a cane at your 30th birthday and say "this is your life now". We don't immediately become stodgy old codgers at a designated date. Any of these kids on this thread thinking otherwise will discover how stupid they were once they also hit their mid-thirties and continue to do the things they enjoyed when they were in their 20s. I probably have MORE fun and autonomy now that I'm in my 30's than I ever did in my 20's or teens.
Well, these two episodes gave us the romance and charming/cute scenes we've been waiting for, but I was also hoping/waiting…
I'm sure Moon Woo Jin will be the new 'Nam Da Reum' of KDramas. He'll play all the young versions of the MLs, now that Nam Da Reum is in the military and old enough to be playing the ML himself soon!
I'm ultra-sad about the veggiesaurus and meatasaurus foxes and their terribly unfulfilling ending. The writers did that dynamic duo dirty.

The kisses in this show are *FIRE*
I bow to Park Jin Young as the kiss MASTER.
I agree that it's still worth the watch though.
