Being surprised isn't the point. I don't mind the majority of Johnny's who act in drama. Sakurai in particular is crap at it.

Sakurai's acting was crap. He can't "do" emotion. I'm looking forward to more roles for Uragami Seishuu.

Yakou Kanransha and Namonaki Doku were both basically character studies built around a mystery. A lot of the Japanese crime/mystery novels I've read are incredibly character-driven, but most dramas of the same genre are superficial or shock value, so these two were a relief. Yakou Kanransha in particular was successful in integrating the mystery into the characters' lives, as opposed to forcing borderline stock characters into a mystery. I think that's a strength of Minato Kanae's work, judging from the adaptations I've seen.

I started listening to Japanese music after a few years on a whim back in February. I hadn't realised I'd missed it til I heard Naniwa Iroha Bushi. That's how I got back into dramas. xD

Ryo was my favourite for a long time. For Kanjani my favourite old song is probably Eden or Heavenly Psycho. You don't listen to their newer stuff? And Weeeek is my favourite News song, but Ai Nante comes second.

He growls at a politician called Michael Gove but I find that quite understandable. xD I think it's Maru's facial expressions he hates. Boys on the Run is full of face-pulling, and I can forget about watching a Kanjani8 concert if the dog is in the room. Even if you stare at him for too long he starts barking. He's sort of shy. xD
I'm not a massive K-Pop fan, but I watch their music videos and performances for the choreography. I can hardly put one foot in front of the other some days, so it amazes me that people can move together like that. xD
Lol, they definitely look interesting from just their faces. Johnson particularly, considering he could well be Prime Minister one day.

I was actually saying, "No, don't do it, don't do it" at that part, and when she did it my potential sympathy for her sort of died. xD I'm not sure I have a favourite villain, unless it's a protagonist who happens to be a villain. Secondary villains annoy me too much.
I do like British shows better, though I only watched one British drama this year (Broadchurch). My favourite ever TV drama is British, House of Cards and it's sequels. I like some American shows too, but I can't stand their crime dramas, sometimes irrationally. xD

I try to make my ratings objective. I'll give deserving dramas 7 even if my enjoyment level was only 6. But on the other hand Hidarime Tantei EYE is a 10 in my heart, an 8 on my list, and probably worth 6.5 in reality. xD
Lol, Kyoya is my favourite. My friends used to go, "Ahh, so that's your type...", but I don't think I have a "type" in particular. xD
He played one of the characters I did like in Hana Kimi, strangely enough. But don't take my word for much regarding Hana Kimi. I'm a little biased against both the two leads and anime adaptations.
I didn't even watch season 2 of HYD, since I was quite happy with the way season 1 ended. xD I might watch the 90s movie for a laugh one day.

I find it hard to sympathise with Jae Hee, despite her past. Her manipulation is on another level.
I've given up on a lot of K-dramas because I'm more used to the realism of J-drama. I think it's comparable to the differences between British and American drama.

I see. I sometimes have to down-rate my original ratings because certain actors/actresses tend to get an automatic extra point, but I rarely change my rating upwards. I'm either really easy or really hard to please. xD
I only skipped through the first few episodes of Ouran, so I can't really count it as watching. I do remember it had lots of sparkles and anime-style effects so I ended up rewatching the anime. xD It doesn't help that I'm not a big fan of Yamamoto Yusuke and Tamaki was my... second favourite character in the series.
Hana Kimi wasn't bad but the comedy went over my head. I watched Hana yori Dango because everybody says it's a classic. A strange case of hating every character but finding the story compelling. xD

Mostly idols, since they possess talents and skills I'll never have, and that interests me a lot. I like the type with a very obvious idol persona. I feel like it could be either very tiring or good escapism, or maybe both. xD But I have plenty of arbitrary examples of other "created" people. (My favourites being Boris Johnson and Kenneth Williams.) It's a strange thing to analyse, I know. xD
Lol, I haven't been too busy recently, and I doubt my to-listen-to is as long as your list anyway. xD I'll have to listen to some more of CN Blue's Korean music. And BOY is one of my favourite songs too. =)

I had no plans to watch it when it was airing so I spoiled myself for the ending. But so many people enjoyed it I've been thinking about giving it a chance anyway.

So the point of this drama was the same old "humans are bad but redeemable through love and the alternative is worse anyway"? I can understand why it did so badly after Hanzawa Naoki.

And my obscure favourite character died, as per usual.

Trivialising comments are the worst. Generally there's no hate in them but it propagates misunderstandings, turns illness into a joke and a choice, and makes it harder for people with these issues to make contact with "normal" people when they're already scared enough.
