well I assumed his acting was "flat" because he was depressed before he outright said he was depressed.…
He's probably been drugged up on anti-depressants for years, but bad acting is bad acting whatever the cause.

I've started Innocent Man. There really is a lot of drama, isn't there? I don't think I could marathon much of it but I'll look forward to some tears. xD
I'm particular about comedy. Most of the time I don't like manga adaptations because the overacted comedy doesn't translate well to live-action.
I started watching Tengoku no Koi, pretty much a daytime soap opera. They must have made a list of everything melo they could think of and added it to the script. I've made a vow to myself to catch up with it for Christmas. xD
By the synopsis I'm starting to picture the sugary-ness of Smiling Pasta.
If you like it try 8UPPERS. Objectively (honestly!) it's good for a Johnny's album. =)
I see. =) Which songs are your favourites? I'm always looking for song recommendations. xD
I swear there's a new group every month. xD Up to 6 members I could probably manage, but any more than that...

Ouch, that doesn't sound fun at all. :( I hope you feel better now.
Ah, I'm glad I live in a village. In my small hometown you can walk across any road with your eyes closed and nobody will run you over. I tried that my first time in a strange city and got the shock of my life.
Going to matches is fun, but in truth I don't find much entertainment in watching them on TV.
And here is part 2: Best historical drama: Nobunaga no chef Best melodrama/tragedy drama: Frenemy ~dobunezumi…
<3 for Chicken Baskets.

I tend to prefer just romance over romantic comedies, since humour is hit-and-miss for me. And I actually like a certain amount of melodrama/tragedy, because it's boring when things go too well. xD Feel free to recommend if anything comes to mind. :)
I can't even imagine such a feeling... Which drama was that?
Lol, I thought Scott looked lonely up there so I finished the top line. xD That was one of my first Kanjani songs, along with "It's My Soul". Love at first sight for me. xD If you like pop-rock type music they do a lot of songs as a band these days. I'll recommend "Ai Deshita" to add to your epic list. xD I like some of CN Blue's Japanese songs. They always remind me of Maroon5. I'm pretty familiar with Japanese music in general, but I'm overwhelmed by the amount of different idol groups in Korea. It's a whole other world to me.
For such a great cast, I really didn't like this drama. Sasaki is fabulous as Ganmo though.

I've been trying to get more into Korean drama but I have trouble with 20+ 1 hour long episodes. I gravitate towards j-dramas because they're familiar, but I should really try more k-drama since I loved the one (one!) I actually completed. But you seem to like drama from all over Asia. =)
Lol, they're past their hey-day as far as Johnny's go. xD I'm a fan of Kanjani8 in particular (as in my avatar), and I also like SNSD. Do you like any idol groups?
I started French at school but I continued it by choice. Japanese I started by choice and continued with classes, so sort of the opposite. xD I see, kanji does involve a lot of time and persistence. xD

It's actually been dropped for ages, but I decided to give it another chance. Hopefully I'll like the end now I'm in a more forgiving mood.

I was sure I replied to you last night... Oh well.
That must have been nice for him.
The Premier League is from August to May (...I think?), so it's pretty much always football season here. There's also rugby and cricket, but I know nothing about cricket beyond the World Cup (which is really just a Commonwealth Cup).
But I don't think I'd have the dedication to sit in such weather. You must be a true fan.

My friends keep recommending me American TV shows, but I look at the amount of episodes in each season and think, I could be watching 2 and a half Japanese dramas in that time. xD Music is probably the only thing that isn't neglected, since I can walk around and listen to it.
They're members of KinKi Kids and Tokio. I'm probably too familiar with idols for my own good... I can't name many of the young ones though, so that's something. xD
There are scenes of them composing it throughout the movie, but the song never plays any part in the plot. So I guess it is just an extended MV. xD
Speaking a foreign language entails being judged on my ability, so I'm not fond of it at all. =/ I think my patience for cramming a load of words in my head is my real talent. Kanji is actually my favourite part of learning Japanese. I can understand why a lot of people are scared of it though.
The supporting females have the most interesting roles. Oshima Yuko, Honda Tsubasa and Yamaguchi Sayaka particularly.

What other hobbies do you have? I'm sure I used to read a lot more than I do these days. But Asian TV drama is as good a hobby as any, I guess. xD
It stars two Johnny's, and it feels like the movie was made solely to promote its own theme song, so I suppose it falls under the category of "idol vehicle". But it's definitely not a typical one. xD
I go through phases of motivation. I learn as many kanji as I possibly can then forget half of them when I lose momentum. I'm not talented in languages, but I am very interested in them. I studied French for nine years, including a year at university level, but I still can't hold the most basic of conversations. =/ I use it mainly for reading the news and novels.

That's interesting; why was he so surprised at being remembered? I used to watch the local reserve teams play in the freezing Northern Autumn/Winter, so my experience is something of the opposite. xD

I'm not alone then! My "familiar" friend is actually the person who introduced me to Japan via manga/anime many years ago, although I was never really into anime and she never got into drama.
Indeed. =)
It's a strange film. xD It has absolutely no plot and I suppose it's just an idol vehicle, but it was still vaguely enjoyable.
I take basic classes at a local university, but most of the Japanese I know comes from exposure and self-study. I'd been trying to learn for a long time before I lost interest a few years ago. I still watched dramas on and off, but in January I suddenly felt like listening to the Japanese music I liked when I was younger, and it was like a switch being flicked in my brain. xD Studying became so much easier after that. Motivation really is the best thing for it (as evidenced by my terrible aural comprehension of French).

Will do! How did your favourite team become your favourite? I grew up with a "favourite" football team, but that was due entirely to proximity.

In my case I think it's because I don't like sitting alone in the dark. At least at concerts and restaurants you're moving around. I'm probably very annoying to go see movies with. If I get bored I start to fidget like a little kid. xD My friend is at least familiar with Japanese entertainment, so she'll be a willing participant. xD
When I first heard about 47 Ronin I thought, okay, an American Chuushingura might be interesting. But my interest gradually slipped away with all the delays and the details of dragon ladies etc. But I've been surprised by movies before so there's always hope.
The first Japanese movie I tried watching without subs was Fantastipo, which is bizarre enough to start with. I think not understanding anything probably made it better and all the more surreal. xD I can generally get by without subtitles now though.
