I'm hooked too. xD I hate the evil mother-in-law trope, and I also don't like DV for the sake of adding drama, but I'll see how it goes. I'm glad it's not a straight romance anyway. How a person's past shapes their present self is always interesting.
I love the song too. The atmosphere when it plays is perfect.

Thanks for the friend request. I liked your article. =) (And I see you have Miranda on your profile.)
When 0goushitsu no Kyaku/Guests of Room 0 was airing I considered wearing Yokoyama's hotel receptionist outfit, but it was too much effort. (The one time I did dress up was as Sebastian from Brideshead Revisited.) I think I'll do the eye-on-eyelid make-up and be done with it from now on.

It sounds like an interesting approach, using the same character for a completely different setting and story. I'll have to watch it some time.
Are you watching Tengoku no Koi? I'm not usually one for daytime soap operas but I'm feeling melodramatic and the first three episodes were plenty that.
So who's playing the housewife?? They never listed the actor And Ive never known Japan to show more than 12 episodes…
Tokoshima Yoshiko plays the housewife.
It's a noontime "obi dorama", broadcast at the same time every weekday.

I did really like her in Utsukushii Rinjin. Been meaning to watch Saki too. Is it along the same lines or similar in tone to Rinjin?

Thanks for the recommendation. I'd thought about it but the synopsis seemed really... long-winded? I like corporate settings and I'm pretty much sick of light drama so I'll give it a chance. I must be the only person in the world that doesn't like Nakama Yukie though.
I think you should have clearly made a difference between drama plots and real life. While arguments about North…
Pretty much this. For the life of me I can't see how North and South Koreans training together in a drama equates to either government being a bunch of kittens in reality.
Ah, I remember the gist now. Though I can't remember the ending, so I could probably rewatch it and enjoy it like it's new to me. xD Johnny villains are a nice change.
It's pretty much on my list for the guest Kanjani appearances... On the other hand, although I'm not interested in Arashi I really enjoyed their Kiiroi Namida movie. I suppose it really does come down to the story.
I'm liking 49. It seems to have just the right amount of comedy and thoughtfulness. And the next episode looks... interesting.
