They both became immortals because Ye Baiyi successfully taught WKX the cultivation method and when WKX and ZZS performed it, it worked.
But immortals in this drama universe have to live in cold places (just like Ye Baiyi), otherwise they start aging, so they live on the mountain close to Four Seasons Manor.
