Not it's not just you. I have noticed the same thing as well. The bg is too loud most of the time and their voices sound like whispers. I have noticed this sound issue with some other iqiyi dramas as well.
It's too much like HW movies, where there are suddenly loud noises and the action scenes sound too loud or the bg is too loud, but dialogues are almost like whispers.
I read subs too but I also like to hear the dialogues and it's quite annoying for me.
