After reading your posts, I think it is safe to say that you didn't understand the drama at all. Why does this drama need to have either alphas or betas or follow some formula? Why does it even have to be like another drama? Maybe you should just rewatch LLTG instead since this isn't to your liking.

You're welcome. But in this drama characters do look like they have gone through hell and back ( when they have to). When characters are locked up for years, they do like they've been locked up for years. When they have to look dirty and smelly, they do look like they are dirty and smelly. When they are starved, they do look they are starved. In fact this is one of the rare dramas which actually took the most realistic approach to those things and recieved a lot of praise for it.

I haven't seen the yt full versions so I don't know if they edited out stuff from those or you're confused with the timeline.

Yeah it did get the distribution license but tencent already confirmed a few days ago that it will only air in 2024. Jan-Feb is a possibility but not before that.

Personally I have not read the novel so based on the script and the characterizations I would say that all the actors are perfectly cast for their roles. Yang zi is pretty in my eyes. Moreover the MLs don't love her just for her beauty. One is her cousin and loves her unconditionally, 2nd and 3rd ML love her for goodness and inner beauty, and they fall for her while she's still disguised as a man...actually not just disguised, she can magically change her appearance...so they actually see her as a man. Only the fourth ML has a crush on her after she transforms into a woman.

As @lulupony said during the time of filming they were aged between 27 and 32, so even age wise they are suitable for their roles.
