I am currently watching MJTY and watched bits of Parallel world epi 1. MJTY is slow paced and I am watching it at an even slower pace. PW looks interesting but I can't seem to get started. Maybe I am just tired after watching both TTEOTM and LYF twice. I should probably just watch something light instead or take a short break.

Zhang Wanyi is the main character along with Yang zi because the story focuses on them. A protagonist or lead in fiction isn't defined by romance only. His character will have a lot of things going on.
They are going to have a lot of interactions in the future epis. If you're on epi 7, then 39 epis is still a long way too go. And if you're expecting the drama to follow a formula, it won't. It's not a formulaic story.
