I am watching epi 1 and omg the subs are terrible! I have never seen such bad subs for a youku drama. I feel like I am watching a mango tv drama instead. I also watched the trailer for epi 1-2 and my honest opinion is that it doesn't look S+. The production quality is not impressive and the build up for Anle and HY meeting in the novel was amazing. They seem to have changed many things here. It also has such a dated vibe. I feel like I am watching a drama from five years ago. So far I am quite disappointed. Maybe the cast will save the drama. Let's see.

Ok so i solely rely on twt, mdl, yt and some other drama news sites for c-ent related news and I just came across one such article that's saying HYX might be permanently shelved??!! It did come across as rather clickbait-y and they often give misleading info but I wonder if there's any such discussions going on in c-platforms.
I was curious about Ming Ye true form too. I dont remember if this was mentioned in the novel, but I think YXW…
YXW and SJ did not have similar appearance. Neither did ADG or TTJ look like MY. But ADG and TTJ had the same appearance because TTJ was born as a vessel for ADG. The drama only had LYX and BL play the characters of MY and SJ because otherwise they would have to cast different actors for those roles.
A drama cannot go on for 6-7 episodes without it's lead actors and moreover how would they make the viewers understand that they were inside MY's dream and experienced his life in the dream? A drama is made for a wider audience and not just for novel readers even if it's an adaptation. So it has to be self-explanatory and not reliant on the novel because not every viewer has read the novel and not everyone will read it. Even LYX and BL did not read the novel. If a drama cannot explain itself it's not a complete drama at all and I think TTEOTM does a good job explaining itself.
ADG looked like this from the start because remember when Di Mian saw TTJ for the first time, he recognized him as the devil fetus even though he had never met TTJ before. Also we see ADG without the mask with Si Ying when she was young. This happened way before MY even became god of war. It was Tian Hao who was the god of war at that time.
ADG had nothing to do with TTJ entering the Bo're Life. ADG had only orchestrated TTJ's birth and set up the prophesy. The Bo're Life was planned by Jize and MY. The main purpose of the Bo're Life was firstly for LSS to know how to replace the evil bone with the divine essence ( the nails, teardrop and love threads included) and secondly for TTJ to grow love threads and later know how to defeat ADG and destroy the All-in-Distress Way. This was Jize and MY's way of freeing TTJ from ADG's clutches and subsequently destroy the All-in-Distress Way.
I am not sure when you saw LSS smiling at MY. I think she was just smiling at everyone in general coz we only got a long shot of the other gods in the Nirvana Realm. Yes, of course MY was there but we didn't get any close ups. MY and the other gods only just appeared briefly after she met and talked with Chu Huang.
I think they did not show us MY's real face in the end simply for cinematic purpose. Coz again they would have to cast another actor and as viewers we got used seeing LYX as MY, so they probably just let it stay that way. Personally I like it better this way.

Welcome to the club. By 'previous life' if you mean MY and SJ, then no, it's not their past lives. MY and SJ were different people and they are inside Ming Ye's ( Dragon ) dream. Since they are inside the dream, they are ( and the viewers) are seeing TTJ and YXW as MY and SJ. This Dream arc has a greater purpose and is deeply connected to TTJ and YXW which you'll understand later. Enjoy !!
